How are you all liking the book now that you’re done the first chapter?

It’s fun so far. More difficult than I was anticipating, too, due to a lot of unfamiliar vocabulary (for me, at least!). The plot’s still working up steam but the build up has lots of entertaining moments, especially at the end of part 1. Like 殺人犯, there’s also a large cast and it’s a bit hard to remember who everyone is!

さすが、pretty similar in level to 殺人犯になれる. Pretty light, but fun.

I’ve been enjoying it a lot. I thought it would be harder then 殺人犯になれる due to the density of text, but it’s actually quite similar in difficulty and I’m not having a lot of trouble reading it. I think the narration style also makes it easier to follow, since even though there are a lot of characters, they feel a bit more fleshed out compared to the previous book for me.

Heads up - next week’s reading will take us to the half way mark in the book. So at the current pace we will take 22 weeks to finish - finishing around middle of July. Hopefully everyone is still enjoying the book and managing to keep up?

I’m enjoying the book and I like the current pace. I like that it’s enough to usually cover a whole sub-chapter every week or two but not so fast it makes it impossible for me to follow my increasing number of other book clubs.

Did fall one week behind, but that’s more to do with my conflicting activities and less to do with the pace of the book.
