Finished chapter 1 today, as this is my first light novel reading I was curious to see how it would translate from anime to book, and I think it was well described (and im surprised I could understand most of it even with a dictionary :sweat_smile:)

From this week’s reading, I don’t remember why Hestia doesnt tell Bell about his new skill. Maybe she doesnt want him to get ahead of himself… Also it was nice that he got a boost from being involved with the lv 2 minotaur, the poor kid deserved it!

She is jealous that the skill was expressed because of another woman. Also, the condition for using the skill is for him to have feelings (for someone) and (maybe spoiler?) she wrongly assumes that he will only have feelings for アイズ (I don’t know if that part is said here). Every time she updates his stats and he made crazy progress, showing he used the skill, she thinks so and gets in a bad mood.

それに「むぎゅ」っては…

Also did he just make up 双丘 or is it actual slang? My ime doesn’t know it, and I lack the courage to google it. :joy:

I assumed it was slang or something. It’s explicit enough to not require any lookup anyway. That sentence made me actually roll my eyes. Just why.

Also 双丘 (which my IME does know by the way) comes up a lot in the series. Way too much for my taste.

Edit: looking it up directly on weblio, I had both the literal definition of “two mounds” and

(2)「2つの 丘 」を意味し、官能小説などにおいて、女性の「両乳房」や「尻」の隠語として用いられる語。 この意味では「そうきゅう」と読む。

Yeah, I don’t habe trouble understanding the meaning - I’m just morbidly curious whether that came from his imagination or is an actual thing people say - or maybe it is now? :joy:

And oh, edit. :smiley: You’re a much smarter person than I, looking it up directly on a dictionary type site. :+1:

I’m laughing at 官能小説 right now. :smiley: (And also at how multi functional this word apparently is. :eyes:)

Well, we say “sensual” in English as well, so it makes sense :thinking: Kinda funny (but reasonable) to think about DanMachi as a 官能小説, though. Even the dictionary is saying “this is low key porn” :rofl:
