If I’m not mistaken, there are free books which you can actually own, right? I have a few books from a while back which I definitely didn’t buy, and I recall them being available for free. So unless I’m wrong, where can I find such offers/how can I get notified of them? I can’t seem to navigate the site well even with page-translation
Highly recommend following this thread for bookwalker freebies (both free trail and free free), and also sales. People generally point out when stuff that’s been part of a club already or something noteworthy is on sale!
(if you scroll up a bit there was also a recent question asked about how to identify the free free from the temporary free stuff)
Excellent, thanks
Hey guys, Week 1 is starting tomorrow! You can find the thread below. Hope to see you there!
Week 2 is up now - come read the second half of chapter 1!
The thread for week 3 is up!
Join us for week 4!
I had heard that there is an anime, but I just found out that there will be a Netflix series too (release date seems to be 2023年 1月12日, no idea if it’s globally or JP only):
Not sure globally, but in Europe (well, at least Netherlands) it’s already out! I’m watching episode 1 right now
I don’t have a Netflix subscription to confirm, but it looks like it’s available in the US as well:
Alright, I just saw the date in the Japanese description and assumed it was a release date, maybe it’s something totally different
Cool that it’s already out!
Welcome to 2023
… okay I will just go hide somewhere now
The anime is also out, or at least some 3d CG thing is. Not sure if they’re doing a more sumptuous traditional anime as well
Oh, Hashimoto Ai. She was in Ama-chan.
@snowwater, when you have a chance, don’t forget to add the vocabulary list to the first post in this thread!
I wonder if it might be a good idea to get rid of the “- Week 4!” in the title. I was wondering where all the week 4 posts that I remembered were gone, until I realized this is the home thread…
While it’s common for book clubs to include the current week in the home thread title, I also find it a bit confusing if I see the home thread and mistake it for a week thread.
Personally, I’m too lazy to bother including it when I run a club, thus I would not mind normalizing excluding the current week on the home thread that so no one calls me out on it
Ah, is it? Interesting. I never noticed before in the clubs I participated in and never did it in my own book club threads either.
