付ける → to attach (not “be attached”)
That just tripped me up.

Right now, not doing too well with these level 56 vocab items:
Maybe this will help: Let’s climb Tokyo Skytree - level 60 in autumn 2023 - #1426 by RoseEater
I just failed 空車. Stupid open Taxi. I thought it was another word for airplane. Makes more sense
It’s about to be 優 because I just did the lesson for 憂 and I just know I’m going to mix them up.
You already did .
My three worst leeches are:
My worst kanji leech is 夫, because of its visual similarity to 末, 未, and 失, though, interestingly, I’ve never confused 末 and 未 with each other.
I’m now going to type “air car” at least once in your honor.
If you haven’t seen it in months, you might ACTUALLY type it
幸運 and 幸福 infuriate me because they seem like they should have each other’s meanings. Also I’ve burned 通う but every time 行う comes up I still think “OK this got me last time but I know this means ‘to commute’, thank goodness”
ぶ looks like something you might fall from (I bet the dakuon does exactly that, falling down);
る has a nicely rounded shape, it probably rolls well.
That’s a much better way to remember the difference until it fixes itself in my mind; thank you!
I like the mnemonic that WK provides for 転がる about a girl rolling down the hill with a core! Often for the tricky okurigana-based readings there’ll be a hint like that on one of the entries.
六日 for some reason?? In reality it should be the radical 中!Middle… Inside… ARGH!!
名字 for the longest time messed me up. I get it correctly now, but man.
I always forgot what it meant: First name or last name, gaaaaaah
十 is the worst. I get that they call it cross so they can use it in the mnemonics, but still…
Yeah it totally looks like a cross to me too.
I imagine Ricky Gervais as a sumo wrestler. Another ricky is horsepower (馬力). I am happy to hear there aren’t many.
But 力 is still on my leech list as a vocab word, along with 刀 as kanji, because that little tip doesn’t always register and the only sword I can think of is katana.
る looks like a Weeble!
Hi, a reading mnemonics for 生える that’s been working for me is: what grows? All teeth! And then, tooth in japanese > 歯 > reading = は.
I’m bad with 丸ごと as well, by the way… I can always remember the beginning of the Wanikani explanation but never the actual meaning ^^’
Good luck!
