Visually similar items have to be visually similar to something, otherwise almost everything is visually similar to some random item. You need to type in what items are the reference for the visual similarity. You may type in a list of items separated by commas. This will return all items that are visually similar to the items you have typed in.
Also visual similarity works only for kanji items.
Ah, I thought I was gonna have to manually pick every single kanji I wanted to study individually, but I see that I only need to pick one (or more) for it to generate it.
Can someone make a super simple script? I want, in lessons, the kanji should be clickable.(but i dont mind if it works for radicals and vocab). When clicked, it should open two new tabs, one to jisho.org/search/*[kanji]* and https://jisho.org/search/[kanji]% 20%23kanji where [kanji] is the symbol you click in wanikani
You can do this with the export feature of my script Item Inspector. This needs some configuration though.
The procedure
Install Item Inspector
In the settings create a new table with the new button under the Tables tab.
In the filter tab select the filter called SRS level.
Select all SRS levels Guru+. This will cause all items from the selected level to show in the table.
Still in the filter tab select the Item Type filter and click on Kanji and Vocabulary. Make sure Radicals is unclicked. This will prevent the radicals from showing in your table.
In the export tab select the information you want in your list of items, for example the Items, Item Type and Readings Full.
Get out of the settings. The items you want to export will show on the Wanikani dashboard.
Click on on the export button.
When the export dialog show up click on the download button.
The desired list of items will be downloaded in CSV format.
It wouldn’t be more cheating, it would be like if I try to pass a burn I really shouldn’t be passing, I’d instead get it wrong without instinctively just spamming enter to move onto the next review. But I think I’ll just add a burn celebration script so I’ll be aware in that instance.
Nah, I just abuse the ignore answer script and let things slide more leniently when they’re not a burn, but I don’t wanna keep accidentally burning things I shouldn’t when assuming they weren’t enlightened and then spamming enter to the next review.
Even if I didn’t abuse the script, it’d be like not feeling confident in an item enough to burn it even if I got it correct and would rather fail it knowing it’ll never show up again instead; rather than going too quickly and then sending it.
I know I can resurrect, but I’d rather avoid it altogether.
Basically it’d just be like a “are you sure wanna burn this?” thing. But again, I’ll prob just get a celebration script or something to let me know it’s burning more apparently.
Not sure if this exists already, but for me it would be superuseful to get a script that, once you reach a specific number of reviews pending, it puts your account automatically on vacation mode. It would be a good way of letting you have some control of your account numbers without getting too many items piled up.
Is there a way to keep track of a previous level’s kanji after you go up a level? I ask because I was keeping an eye on level 6 kanji to see when I could expect new vocab to unlock, but then I went to level 7 and now I can’t see what I can expect for the last 2 or 3 kanji left over from level 6. I don’t want to start new lessons for 7 until I finish with 6 vocab.
