Hey and welcome to the TUGUMI book club!

We still have a lot of time until this book club starts, I know… but I recently took a peek in order to start to think about a possible schedule, and it turns out that this book has been written exclusively for our book club! (Or so it makes me believe :joy_cat:)

Therefore I put it into the OP straight away. I hope y’all agree that the schedule is amazing as-is (because I honestly wouldn’t know how to improve it ). But if you have a better suggestion, I’m all ears of course.

Anyways: When it comes to the book emoji, I think there is room for improvement! I know next to nothing about the book (other than that the MC is a boy haha I did not even know that properly) and so I decided to go with what looks like a boy’s face to me. If you have an emoji that you think fits the book better, please let me know!

(In case you wonder: Amazon was so kind as to publish the table of contents in their preview, so these are the real page numbers from the paperback book.)

Reading the synopsis, and this review on Amazon that said:

決めているわけではないけど、毎年気温が上がってくると、なぜかこの本を読み返してしまいます。
舞台が夏だからなのか、海だからなのか、理由はわかりませんが、無性に読みたくなり、本棚から抜いて一気に読みます。

I wonder if a summer or beach-y emoji may be nice for this book club? Something like these:
:ocean:
:sunrise:
:shell:
:beach_umbrella:

Though, I’m not at all offended by the boy emoji! Haha

This review makes me really excited to read this in the summer, and to read the Tugumi in general :sunglasses:

The main character isn’t a boy. Her name is まりあ.

Hahaha omg thanks for telling me :woman_facepalming: I had this seriously mixed up in my head and did not even take the time to check the abstract again :sob:
like I said, I know nothing about the book :confounded:

To iron over my blunder, I changed the icon to the sunrise icon for now (thanks @Axazel for your suggestions) but am still open to suggestions or opinions :+1:

I was gonna say! But even then I was also a little confused.
Isn’t it the narrator that meets Tugumi? I couldn’t quite tell if the narrator is a character, and if that character is a boy or girl… Or if I’m wrong all together haha.

The narrator is つぐみ’s cousin. Her name is まりあ. :joy:
