I’ve seen it more than a few times, but I’m probably biased by the all historical stuff I was reading at some point. Leebo mentioned many times he doesn’t read that much, so could be hard… if it’s a reading that comes up in kanken, though, he’ll be okay.
Edit: 4級 he won’t break a sweat. Could be nice to lull him into a false sense of security:p
The terminology originally comes from 古事記 but is very common in Aikido circles today so I think it’s fair game. Translated as "True victory is self-victory, victory right here right now (victory day). Not even sure if this even a common 四字熟語 or not.
We have 46 sentences, 50 terms to answer/guess in total, a nice round number!
I will be publishing the quiz on sporcle.com. I am still wondering if I should have all the sentences on the screen at the same time from the start, or if I should make him do them 1 at a time.
In any case, by the time Leebo goes live I will be in calligraphy class, so if one of you could post the link in his thread I would appreciate it. (I will post the link here first).
Here it is! I made it private for now, but I think I can still make it public at some point. This way I can still edit it, so if any of you find an issue between now and 1pm CET I can still make some adjustments.
Seems like くすぶる is the allrounder pronunciation for abstract and actual smouldering, while いぶる is more specific for actual things that are on fire and smouldering. So when he says いぶる that should be wrong for that sentence.
So, wait, if you don’t know the answer, you just can’t skip? Well, he will be on a computer, so he can look up the correct answer… but then he will just get 100% at the end or am I missing something?
I can try to see if I can change the settings to make problems skippable, but basically yes. But he won’t be ranked since he’s using the stopwatch function.
Edit: I added a skip option. now if you input ‘skip’ you will be marked wrong and you can proceed to the next sentence.
