By the way, for comparison, what is the numbers for bocchi 1 and tearmoon (manga) 1? Those are the only things I have read in that range so far

I can’t decide whether reading is going well or not. Can I at least finish this book before Christmas, please Redglare. Let’s do that.
Totally random, but I think someone tagged it as slice of life on Natively and I was so surprised. It was pretty funny actually, when I saw that. I don’t think I’ve ever thought of the series as slice of life.

Actually haven’t been reading all that much, but still at least a bit every day. I did catch all the way up on the 薬屋のひとりごと anime, and would like to start working on the manga I think. But… I have so much unread stuff still it’s hard to justify starting yet another project lol. I might save it for a rainy day, or at least when I haven’t seen the story so recently
Read:
- 五等分の花嫁 volume 1 - finished off the rest of this volume! I could’ve skipped over a lot of the 歴女 and historical name dropping parts, and finished it a lot faster… but it was fun! Series gives you many rabbit holes, if you choose to fall into them
- スーパーの裏でヤニ吸うふたり - reread volume 1 - I picked up physical version of the first 3 volumes after the JLPT, and as I was looking at them it felt like a shame to just put 1 and 2 straight up on the shelf without having touched them… especially since they’re such high quality prints! many gorgeous んはははs
wow, didn’t realize bocchi was that text dense! I guess i’m not crazy for thinking ４コマ stuff feels slower to read

- タコ足配線 = overloaded electric outlet (コンセント). Looks like octopus tentacles, but fuse blown.

Today’s word: 縁 (ゆかり) = connection (to a person, place, etc.), relation, affinity.
Sounds like a nice name to me.

Bit of a weird update for me.
Dec 18-21, I read about 1 page a day of Seasons, and on 1-2 of the days, I read a bit of trash. Yesterday I ended up not having time to read, so I broke my streak for the first time in about half a year or more I think? I’m hoping to read a bit today 12/23, but it seems like the rest of the year is pretty insanely busy for me heh. I didn’t expect that it would be quite this busy lol. I’m a bit sad about my streak, but I think next year will be better in many ways.
My graph for this season and year is gonna look sad lol, but I think in 2024, I can aim for 100 volumes of manga in a year (~2/wk)

I think the plot of this book took place in one single day. It was due to one big event – the school festival. It was pretty funny, especially the last chapter or was it the epilogue? It had a lot of teasing, haha.
Anyway, guess what? With this, the total number of Japanese books read is now a -nice- number
I’ll make it a goal to finish one more book this year so it’ll make 70, and then the goal for next year will be 30 books, so it’ll make 100 
I’m very curious how it’ll go next year because I’m gonna graduate from uni in May/June and then start working full time. Probably not as much free time as being a student. Well, at least the workflow is probably going to be consistent because consistent work hours is a thing and not so much up and down as through a semester to the point where I can’t read some days (i.e. see my post from Oct 22 this challenge).
I hope the next book in the series can keep my attention because it’s literally called “IV after”, so basically a 4,5. Why’s that? あとがき in book 4 says it’s a collection of original short stories (not in the web version) that takes place after the school fes. I’m usually not a fan of short stories because they tend to be unconnected to everything else, but I saw a review on bookmeter saying it was a satisfying read, so… I’m giving it a try.
