Yeah same! Not sure I would be here still studying away without Neo and the other prolific log posters of this community.

:hearts:

Alright, it’s Sunday again, so let’s see what happened this week!

As usual, I leveled up on WK again! Nothing too special about it… except that this is one of my last levels in the painful category! :tada: Soon, I will face death, and then I will laugh in the face of death lol

Anyway, as for Bunpro, I think I only added one grammar point which I found yesterday in my daily two chapters of the TWC. I’m now cramming through the N3 grammar points, and my accuracies are suprisingly high. I might start N2 sooner that I expected, especially because BP is starting to get a bit buring, with only ~50 reviews per day haha. I’d definitely go waaaaaay slower for N2 and N1, like, 3 or 5 grammar points per day. For now, though, I won’t actively study N2, and just continue to occasionally add grammar points. I hit level 70 on BP yesterday as well, which means only 30 more levels to go until I’m at the top!

Having less reviews on Bunpro means I have more time for iKnow, though, which is a pretty good thing. I noticed that the iKnow SRS is way more brutal than WK and BP, as I have to review an item every 20 minutes until I got it right often enough for the SRS spacings to get bigger. This is the reason why I temporarily stopped adding new items. I will first get all courses to 70-80% before starting to add new items.

As for reading, I now finished 2/3 of Markus’ Ascent! This means that I’ll probably finish the story next month. And I managed to keep up with NHK Easy as well. So, it’s time for more difficult material very soon! Perhaps I will try to read 1 NHK normal article every day? Not sure how much I can handle at my current level haha, I think it’s pretty safe to say that my current grammar level is somewhere between N4 and N3. As for my listening level… well, probably below N5

Here is how I would estimate my current skill levels:

Vocabulary: ~N5, perhaps very weak N4

Grammar: somewhere between N4 and N3

Kanji: According to @Kumirei’s very handy script, very good N4 and not-too-bad-but-still-bad N3

Production: Very basic stuff, perhaps N5

Reading (without Yomitan): I was recently able to read a whole NHK Easy article without using Yomitan at all except for a few words. So, it definitely got better, but since I estimate NHK Easy at N3, I’m not N3 yet with my reading. Perhaps N4 is a better estimation?

Reading (with Yomitan): N2+ because I have acquired the insanely helpful skill of cheating hahaha

Listening:

So, my overall level is probably somewhere at a weak N4. I don’t think I could pass N4 yet, though, but I’m more confident that I could pass the N5.

Anyway, let’s put the JLPT stuff aside! I still haven’t looked more into さ vs. ざ and ち vs. じ because… yes. And for handwriting, I’m still ten levels behind my actual WK level, I will probably never catch up with myself

I made decent progress with my piano piece this week, I’m about 33% through and can play all of it so far pretty well. It’s very repetitive, though, so it’s not that big of an achievement, especially because the piece isn’t that hard anyway. So, I hope that I will soon start with Adventure’s end, which I posted a few days ago!

Time for some stats!

Look at my accuracies for N2 and N1 :sunglasses:

See ya around :3

I’m really happy that I’m able to motivate others as well with my study log! 頑張りましょう!

It’s time, my dudes, for the next two chapters from the TWC!

One minute of silence passed where only the sound of the river and animal cries where audible.

(Celestina:) The work that I am doing for the village is necessary.

(Markus:) You should be able to do more and more if you become a witch!

(Celestina:) Making food and caring for the garden is the entire value.

(Markus:) Yeah… Well, let’s meet again at the gathering of the underground village tomorrow!

受け取ったのメッセージ (6 / 19)

ダリンガム(おか)南側(みなみがわ)を目にすると、マーカスとセレスティーナは元気になりました。

(Markus:) また来たね!

(Celestina:) 今回(こんかい)はもっと簡単に行けるはず。

(Markus:) そうだね。あのさ、洞窟で受け取ったニコロのメッセージについて(かんが)えてみたんだ。

(Celestina:) それで?

Markus and Celestina became full of energy when they saw the south side of the hill Daringamu.

(Markus:) We came again!

(Celestina:) We should be able to go more easily this time.

(Markus:) Yes. Look, I thought about the message from Nikolo that I received in the cave.

(Celestina:) And?

From Deepl : if you were a witch, you could do so much more.

From Deepl : Cooking food, tending the garden, it’s all worth it.
The intended meaning was : these activities are all valuable things to do.

Reading your translations, I’m quite happy with page 4 and 5.
I think they…joking, I’m not going to spoil you

oh btw I passed the JLPT N3 after over a year of studying while only knowing around 400 kanji so that’s really great after, what, four months?

yaaaay! wait what are you playing again rn?

Thank you! Yes, I started exactly four months ago from today!

Oh no now I’m imagining silly toddlers falling about each other again :see_no_evil:

I’m impressed. That’s quite the pace! You’ve been keeping up with weekly levels for a long time now. (You’re going about twice as fast as me, and I think this is the fastest I’ve ever gone!)

Thanks a lot! I plan to keep going at max speed until level 60, so prepare to see more of it

Btw, I hope you’re feeling better now

Kinda late today, because I almost forgot about it, but here are two more chapters from the TWC

多くの人を繋ぐハブ (7 / 19)

レオとリサの小屋(こや)には誰もいなかったけれど、セレスティーナは二人のために作ったポーションを(ゆか)に置きました。

(Markus:) 地下の建物で何かがメッセージを(あつ)めて送信(そうしん)しているんだと思う。

(Celestina:) ハブのようなものってこと?

(Markus:) そうだね、多くの人を(つな)ぐハブ。すごいことなんだろう。

(Celestina:) でも、どんな使(つか)(かた)があるのかしら?

There was noone in the cabin of Leo and Lisa, but Celestina put a potion on the bed that she made for the two people.

(Markus:) I think something in the underground building is gathering and sending the messages.

(Celestina:) Something that is similar to a hub?

(Markus:) Yeah, a hub that connects a lot of people. That would be amazing, isn’t it?

(Celestina:) However, I wonder how to use it.

地下町の扉 (8 / 19)

セレスティーナは地下町の(とびら)を開けるレバーを簡単に見つけました。

(Celestina:) 石は十分(じゅうぶん)(あつ)まった?

(Markus:) そうだね、残念(ざんねん)ながらもう(のこ)っていない。新しく出てくるまで、けっこう時間がかかるんだ。

(Celestina:) もう行っていい?早くまたみんなに会いたいわ!

(Markus:) 行こう。

Celestina easily found the lever that opens the gate of the underground village.

(Celestina:) Have enough stones been gathered?

(Markus:) Yes. Unfortunately, there are none left anymore. It takes a lot of time until they appear anew.

(Celestina:) Should we go now? I want to meet everyone again soon!

(Markus:) Let’s go!

Coming back to this, thanks a lot for sharing this, this is a great piece, and I really enjoy listening to it! I added it to my playlist!

Btw I’ve been wanting to ask where do those pretty graphs come from? I know wkstats and like one of the user scripts but that’s it.

You can find the list of all the userscripts I use in the OP of this study log  I really recommend having a look at it!

The only chart that I made myself (with the help of @araigoshi) is the chart that shows the SRS distribution over time.

The stat scripts are:

From Deepl : But what use could they be?
The intended meaning was : But what would be the point (of such a hub) ?

Thanks a lot for the correction! I think I see why it is translated that way. If I’d translate it now, I’d say something like “However, what way of using is there”, which is pretty much what the intended meaning is, just written in… weird English lol. I’m not entirely sure how I came up with what I originally wrote, now that I think about it lol

yeah I remembered that after I’d written the last message and am currently clicking myself through user scripts. Already installed like four new ones. If you can’t tell, I’m just a mite bored today haha

I guess the list is the most useful thing of my study log, I’ve already heard from several people that they found it helpful
