I went through Genki 1 a while ago in my Japanese class, (we’re currently moving on to Genki 2 for the 13th or so mini-semester) but certain grammar points are starting to slip out of my mind a bit, so it would probably be beneficial to go over all of it again. I’ll probably be in.

This sounds good. I did Genki I and II in a Japanese course that I did while I was at university doing my Bachelor’s. That was five years ago and I find that I still can’t put sentences together in native Japanese so this will be a good refresher course for me. Perhaps in a group with a fixed schedule, I will have more motivation to stick to learning Japanese in a more focussed way rather than the ad hoc way I’ve been doing it since I graduated from university.

Count me in. I have made it through quite a few levels on Bunpro, but I like the idea of learning with a text book. I am ready to get serious about the language again.

Just ordered the books! First time using amazon AND the Japanese one, so I hope that I ordered the right books and didn’t do anything wrong :grin: Hopefully they arrive next week.

I’m over half way through currently but it can be difficult studying solo, plus I never used the workbook so will be nice to do the bits I missed. Looking forward to it. :slight_smile:

You can always see how much you can keep up, and if you need a slower pace, I’m sure there would be others in a similar situation and you could pair up with them or even split off into a half speed group if there is enough.

@_Kristan I think we should just keep it to this thread, that way people can answer on their own schedule and not worry about time zones.
@misato I’m sorry about that, and if we end up with lots of people getting behind then I can definitely change the schedule, but we are at least going to try for one chapter a week at first
