Genki II - study buddies?

Hi everyone,

I have finished Genki I (quite awhile ago) and am just reviewing over everything currently, but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in being study buddies for Genki II? Either just starting, or haven’t gotten too far in it would be best as I haven’t started it yet and wouldn’t be able to help much, however, I will be moving at a moderate pace of approximately 1 chapter per week.

We can chat and encourage each other on discord regularly (unless you have a different preference). We can even voice chat to practice the dialogues for the chapter if that would interest you, but it is not a deal breaker.

I think in there would be the most convenient to finding a time that would work for practicing the reading exercises and whatnot as a group.

Sometime this week should likely be the first reading / study group session. We can discuss what should be included in the session (ie. should we do the class activities in the textbook as a group?)

Anyone is welcome to continue to join in who reads this. I will update this thread with what part we are working on etc as time goes on. :smile:

If it’s not possible to sinchronize our schedules (there is a lot of different time-zones in the forums) I have a suggestion:

On the book clubs there is a google doc files for the vocabulary that is shared with all the participants. We could create one big file and input the answers there, you can then add commentary, corrections etc.

I have the answer key and can check the answers, but some of them you can answer in your own way, so for those it would be nice to be checked by someone else.

Hey, I haven’t finished Genki 1 yet but I’m on ch. 10, I was wondering if I could pop by and lurk a bit in the discord server as I try to catch up. I’ve been planning to do 1 chapter a week when I start Genki 2 as well and hopefully join in on the exercises.

That is a good idea! I think that could work. Thanks for the suggestion. :slight_smile: It can also be a good way to get a discussion going in the server if people have questions about their corrections or whatnot.

Of course! Feel free to come in, and ask questions when you get to Genki 2 and hopefully join in on the exercises we do! The more the merrier.
