Can this forum handle yet another animal/nature appreciation thread? I think so!!!
This one is about celebrating marine life, whether it’s in the sea, lakes, or rivers. It can be both in the water or living beside it.
I personally love watching documentaries of marine life. It’s amazing to see all these wonderful and amazing creatures, but also to realize just how little we still know about the sea.
Please have fun sharing your love of the sea and water! ^>^
Extra bonus points go to anyone that posts the Japanese names and kanji of any creature they share.
There is this guy who does fabulous underwater videos, sharing them on his YouTube channel Bubble Vision. He’s an amateur videographer, but does some truly amazing close-up videos of marine life!
Here are some of the fish names in Japanese from Jisho:
Red lion fish: 歯並蓑笠子 はなみのかさご or ハナミノカサゴ
Blue-ringed octopus: 豹紋蛸 ひょうもんだこ or ヒョウモンダコ
Nudibranch (family of seas slugs): 裸鰓類 らさいるい
Seaslug: 海牛 うみうし or ウミウシ [sea cow ]
