葬送のフリーレン ・Frieren 🧝‍♂️ Vol 2

Questions (chapter 12)

p.95

I think i would translate this literally as"

" more than me desperate seem to look."

meaning:

“You seem more desperate than me”

Fern you’re language breaks me 0_o

p.101

出していれば here looks weird to me, grammatically speaking. Is this the ている form with the provisional ば?

I also agree that 出していれば = ている form of 出す + ば conditional to get the pattern: verb + ばよかった (like in: 知っていればよかったのに).

I always have trouble with the present progressive in Japanese (confusing tense and aspect). I think it’s just used here because of the 初めから (はじめに ------> 今), instead of something like: 初めにフリーレン様の名前を出せばよかったんじゃないですか。 Please correct me anyone if I’m mistaken – I’m still learning.

I didn’t see the little guy out the corner of my eye so I thought it was the horse saying that and I was like wow impressive

pg 112: interesting what Frieren said about elves, I hope we meet another one in the series (probably will?) cause I’d like to see them interact and if the others are similar to Frieren’s :neutral_face:ness

pg 117: AWWW my heart, Himmel looking out for Frieren

Any help with what’s being said here? I’m guessing something along the lines of “Is this your doing?” but I’m not sure. It looks like 指し金 can be translated as “instigation”.

I think your translation works. Or maybe “You’re behind this?”.

Apparently the “instigation”; “manipulation” meaning of 差し金 (or 差金) comes from another meaning of 差し金: the rod used to control the arm of a puppet in ぶん(</rp>らく (traditional Japanese puppet theater).

Chapter 15

That chapter was so good! We always knew Frieren was a badass but easy to forget as she looks so sweet and fragile. I feel like that’s the first time we’ve really seen her in full swing!
