This expression and "自業自得” were the highlight of the chapter to me.
Thank you for all the help as usual!

Yay, I’m late again! (I can blame Xenoblade Chronicles for that one.) I’m just getting back into the swing of studying Wanikani and Bunpro again as well, so this has been a lot. I liked seeing Ruri and her Mum playing video games, though. That was fun.

Chapter 5: Brought Down At Last

Pages 132-135

Ruri: I’m exhausted.

Kashiro: Shall we wrap things up for today?

Miyashita: It was impossible to study the whole curriculum in one day.

Ruri: But, thank you. …You really helped me.

Ruri: I think I had fun studying for the first time.

Mikura: I didn’t do anything at all.

Miyashita: Miku, you’re terrible at maths.

Kashiro: Let’s do it again! The study meeting.

Ruri: Girls, aren’t I scary?

Ruri: We’re studying together like this, but I’m a fire-breathing dragon, right?

Ruri: I wonder if it’s not scary to be with me…I don’t know when it will happen again.

Ruri: But, everyone 's the same as usual at school, so it worries me what everone’s thinking…

Kashiro: If you ask me, it’s interesting.

Miyashita: The truth is, I think it’s a little scary, but…

Mikura: Umm…I don’t know.

Kashiro: I’m scared as well.

Kashiro: But, when I heard about you, I thought a lot about it.

Kashiro: After you breathed fire last week…

Kashiro: …your mum came to class.

Kashiro: She bowed her head as far as she could.

Mum: Um…Ruri is not a normal human, as you may have guessed. I hid that fact and I’m sorry.

Kashiro: She said she’ll certainly do something about the fire…

Kashiro: I’ve even spoke with Yoshioka about various things.

Kashiro: Surely this is…

Kashiro: You’re doing your best somewhere we can’t see, so I hope that we don’t seem scared.

Pages 136-139

Kashiro: Besides, you’re also scared of being together, right?

Kashiro: You still didn’t know? Dragons or something.

Kashiro: I won’t avoid you even though you’re scary!

Kashiro: You were also able to manage the fire somehow, so you came to school, hm?

Kashiro: Ruri, it’s alright to not worry about that sort of thing…

Ruri: Ack, don’t cling to me, I dont like it.

Ruri: [Everyone here is a good person.]

Ruri: [If we don’t try to get along, we won’t realize that.]

Ruri: [Mum. I don’t always know these things…]

Ruri: [I wonder if I accepted everyone so quickly because of that.]

Ruri: Even though I said not to hide anything.

Mum: Welcome back. You were quite late.

Mum: It’s okay. Was your study meeting fun?

Ruri: Ah! Come to think of it, Sensei kind of knew about me being a dragon.

Mum: Just in case something happens, I told the school staff for the time being…

Ruri: …That ‘just in case’ happened this time.

Pages 140-143

Mum: Hehehe, it’s Takoyaki today. Take a shower first.

Ruri: Woah…it’s just like from Osaka.

Mum: I’ll teach you next time.

Mum: It’s good every so often…

Ruri: Yeah, it’s pretty delicious. HOT!?

Mum: Ahaha! I think it’s always hot.

Mum: I mean, why don’t you like hot foods even though you can breath fire?

Mum: How was school?

Ruri: They said I was a biological weapon.

Ruri: They said there was a week-long discussion about my true identity.

Mum: …high school students are interesting…

Ruri: Nobody really cared that much.

Ruri: …No, I wonder if they did care.

Ruri: But, everyone did seem to rather enjoy it.

Ruri: It’s like…I wonder if there even is a fire-breathing half-dragon.

Mum: What you’re feeling now is surprising.

Mum: Don’t normal humans even continue to feel these feelings all the time?

Mum: Human problems won’t change very much.

Mum: Even if you’re half-dragon.

Pages 144-147

Mum: (Yawn) I haven’t played a game in a long time.

Mum: I’m bloody worn-out from work today.

Mum: Shift the desk and bring out the chairs.

Ruri: You’re just using me.

Ruri: …What are we playing?

Mum: It’s still not all clear yet.

Mum: It’s fun to play this with you.

Ruri: Ah…these graphics are rough.

Mum: They’ve gotten amazing recently, haven’t they?

Mum: Hey, don’t get the mushroom.

Ruri: Ah! Wait, don’t throw…ah, I died!!

Mum: Damn, I died as well.

Ruri: Ahaha! You’re not able to go it alone, are you? You get what you deserve.

Ruri: There’s still genetics, right?

Mum: That’s right…I don’t know what is hereditary, so…

Ruri: It’s alright as long as it doesn;t get like that again, but…

Mum: I get it. If this is also an omen for something, there is a way to prevent it, however…

Mum: Let’s do something until it manifests into something else.

Mum: It’s alright, we’ll manage somehow.

Pages 148-150

Ruri: But, how much of a dragon did I become?

Ruri: It would be nice if I can continue to go to school.

Mum: It’s the exact opposite of this morning.

Mum: It’s raining today, so go and take an umbrella.

Mum: If you don’t bring it back safely, it’s the sword’s turn next.

Ruri: It’s embarrasing.

Just for the sake of correctness, this is “Aren’t you scared of me?”

I think Kashiro is saying that Ruri’s mom spoke with him.

見えない所で here basically means “out of sight”. But just means that she is doing her best without wanting to bother anyone. “somewhere we can’t see” is a bit of a rough translation.
Also, I don’t think it’s quite “hope”, rather “we don’t need to be [afraid]”, but that’s more a gut feeling, than a grounded thing.

p136-139

This is saying, that “mom, always doing things without me knowing…”. I think it was explained in an earlier post.

Not “I”, “I wonder if everyone accepted me…”. The みんな is the subject here.

Here 一応 is also “just in case”. She told the teachers way earlier (as the teacher said, they already knew when Ruri enrolled). This is saying, that “I told the teachers about it, just in case something were to happen”

p140-143

We discussed this a bit earlier, but this is most likely something along the lines of “Woah, as expected from your Osaka origin”, since takoyaki is very popular and common there.

To add on the same subject, just came across this! Was very new for me at the time, but pretty useful to know, can find plenty of examples across different mangas where ておく is shortened to とく.

So my usual process for reading these has become:

  1. Go through with a first pass to see if I get anything
  2. Go through a second pass a bit more slowly to see if there’s any words that when I squint at the okurigana I might get, or think through what it could be.
  3. Go through again looking up the reference sheet and jisho to actually understand it.

This time felt weird. The entire first half, I felt I had a pretty good handle on what was going on, and so I could skip step 2 and even step 3 was pretty brief in confirming I was correct when I looked up the few words I needed to.

The conversation with her mother felt a little harder, there was some new language that I couldn’t quite get. Also when it comes to long strings of kana my brain tends to go “Oh, there must be something, like, grammatical, going on here”, which caused me to miss what たこやき was referring to, even though I know that takoyaki is a thing, lol. But overall, I think this has been the easiest chapter so far.
