心, and every single time it shows up as a radical or component. No matter what I do, it never looks nice. T.T Goes right along with my least favorite hiragana, ふ.

A.) Find a mess
B.) The mnemonic isn’t very good and I can’t think of one on my own
It has to be both. If A is true, whatever, if I can follow along with the story or make one up. If B is true, well, usually they’re simple enough to remember on their own.
Not many have really given me that much trouble like that, though. The first I can think of is 港 and the second is 疑(which I doubted I could remember please dont kill me).

I hate 機. The balance is super wack, it’s impossible to write recognizably, it looks like it should contain 義 and be read ぎ but doesn’t, the mnemonic makes no sense, and I always mix up the words like 機会, 待機, and 機嫌. Why the heck does machine-hate mean good mood anyway??
疑 mentioned above also reminded me of 務 which is also pretty bad.

Ones I can’t write small and nicely and/or always forget how to write: 道 書 病 歌 旅 働 歳 後
歳 has gotta be worst of all I’ve had to write so far. And for some stupid reason Genki teaches 働 in book 1, 動 in book 2 and 重 even later in book 2 instead of the other way round which would’ve made some sense… I ended up getting 働 and 動 confused a lot too. Wish I’d started using this site sooner- seems like the most logical and fun way of learning kanji out of the methods I’ve come across.
鳥 and 島 are pretty bad. That line between the 日 and the enclosure-looking bit is infuriatingly hard to space out and make look decent when writing them.

No really hated kanji, I have some hated conjugations, but that’s not this thread.
I just did the lesson for 惑 (misguided - わく), which is almost exactly the same as 感 (feeling - かん) - they even share the same WK radicals, drunkard, heart and creeper. While I know that there wasn’t some sadistic Japanese guy from the past who invented all the kanji, I think I need someone do blame for this. This is on purpose.
I’m ranting in the hope that it will help me remember these in future reviews. Thank you for your understanding.
Somehow, the radical creeper in 惑 looks like an eye to me (maybe from a old man or a pirate lol), so I connected it to a misguided person that is always drunk.

The fact that 脳 and 胸 are taught on the same level, I can already foresee myself going a bit too fast and confusing the two…

I thought of 惑 as a misguided effort to write 感 - missed the slide and got the creeper radical upside down.
When I did those I thought of the grass radical as hair above your brain.

For those two, I remember 脳 as brains because the grass radical (the three lines on the top right) makes it look like someone’s brains splattered everywhere. Whereas 胸 has an enclosure, because your chest encloses everything.

I got this one because in the kanji, it’s like the radical treasure (our brain) is irradiating light (grass radical), just like the image of having an idea

Maybe this overcomplicates it or doesn’t help at all but 短気 means short temper and the part on the top right in 短 is the same as the part on the top left below the top line in 感 and temper is related to emotions so that could help with telling them apart. I just associate the line above the mouth with short and when I was trying to remember that 短 meant short I tried to think of it as a person being squashed which makes them short… kind of weird but if you think of the top line and the bottom line as pushing inwards and squashing the other parts it works. And being squashed would probably also make you feel something… ok that was a terrible explanation.
I also dislike 費 because it’s awkward to write
I’d never had a problem with 感, I just didn’t expect something like 惑 to exist. Your mnemonic sure is complicated, but I have a few of these as well.

it just has too many strokes and the meaning isn’t great either, I mean no one really wants to deal with a depression, right? Although somehow I doubt, I will ever forget it… guess that’s thanks to my former Japanese teacher Yamanaka-sensei for telling us, that this will definitely be in the test…
I knew of 惑 from a song before I learned it on here, which helped a lot. I would have kept putting わか every time (poor mnemonic imo) if it wasn’t for knowing 惑星.
Maybe if you listen to her say 惑星 a bunch it will help you like it helped me 
Sadly, I still mixed up 域 and 惑 the other day
