I agree that this week is much easier than the others!
I haven’t posted before because I felt like there was so much conversation that it covered everything I could possibly say.
I haven’t studied grammar in years (and never got very far in the first place) but I have been diligent with Wanikani for over a year now. It’s so satisfying recognizing kanji! The slang and contractions are definitely throwing me for a loop, a little more so than I expected.
This week was a good confidence boost though, because though I didn’t know all the vocab words, I knew exactly what was going on. In contrast to last week, when I had no idea that Kaede was searching on her phone and yelling at it until I started looking things up 
I guess I just didn’t see the tiny phone in her hands when she was looking down during my “no resources” pass through!
Vocab that I had to look up:

よーし - I had to look this up. It wasn’t what I expected, but I actually say “OK!” or “Alright!” when I get out of bed all the time, so it makes perfect sense to me!
予定 - I know this is basic, but I’m proud of myself for getting this one without help. It’s one of those WK vocab words that I learned long enough ago that I was like “what is this kanji again?” But I did it! “yotei… That second one looks like correct… OH, tei, like tater tots!” Proceeds to recognize both kanji through this realization
つっても - Like most others I didn’t know this one, it makes sense though. I was surprised that there was also a けど at the end of the sentence. In English, if you say “even though I said X”, there’s no need to say “but…” or “however” at the end as well. I guess it’s fine though, just seems redundant! I’d be curious if these are always paired together or only sometimes.

あんの - I didn’t understand why this means “do you have” until AI helped me out and told me that this is a contraction of あるの. Great, I got ある, but why the の? I asked and it said “In casual Japanese, the particle の often replaces the formal question marker か”. Good to の!

commentary from this week
So I guess Gal is not at all surprised to wake up to Dino on day 2?? I fully expected “I thought yesterday was a dream”, or, “you’re still here”?
Especially on my first day off work, I’d be like, “Ok, now I have the time to talk to you about what you are doing here and what your long term plans are. Are you planning on living here??”
I guess she completely came to terms with that yesterday in like 5 mins
^ This is exactly my dog’s reaction if I could ask him if he wanted to go somewhere!
It was easier as people have said, and I think every question I had was answered.
