I’ve just set up the Japanese (Anthy) keyboard on my Linux Ubuntu machine. It can type hiragana and kanji quite nicely, but I’ve been having trouble figuring out how to switch to katakana from hiragana. Any tips? Thanks so much for your help in advance!
For most IMEs I’ve used, you push F7 to convert everything you’ve just typed into katakana (and F6 to put it back to hiragana). I couldn’t say if yours is the same, though.
If what you’ve typed is a word that’s normally in katakana, it should come up as one of the conversion suggestions anyway.
