  • Today’s chapter of だん飯. Annoyingly, looks like two very talky chapters – tomorrow’s will probably a bit annoying.
  • Continuing 甘々と稲妻 4 | L23. Very cute. Interestingly, finding Tsumigi’s childish dialogue a bit easier to understand - I think the kids stick to words mostly within my vocab. (I do spend a lot of this manga skipping over handwriting though)

Another week down. As usual, did fine on my off days, then the last 2 days (when I was actually on night shifts and the day after) did less well. (Actually first night shift was fine as had a long flight so read on the way.)

On the plus side, I’ve caught up with most of my ongoing clubs, and finished Spy Family. And I’m now on holiday. Tomorrow should be a good reading day as I have 2 long flights and not much else to do. Then I start a tour in Mongolia on Monday, so have no idea what happens then…

Streak broken! The start of the school year has been nutty. I have had no time for physio exercises, much less Japanese reading. Maybe tomorrow?

Another chapter done. My eyes are being weird. I have to reread sentences more often than usual. I read 4-6 lines and then my focus drift to other things and so I have to reread again figure out where to pick up from where I left.

Btw, I wrote yesterday’s post without my glasses on, that’s why it looks like one long sentence, haha. I couldn’t see that I had switched up the , button for .. Yesterday’s me looks like a rambling maniac :crazy_face:

  • Second ダン飯 for the week. Actually a bit easier than I thought even though part of it was about Elven court politics…
  • The nice thing about easily achievable minimums is that you don’t have to always push yourself every day. For instance I felt like reading a star wars book yesterday so I did that instead of my extra reading. and that’s fine!

Finally done with watching all cutscenes of Phantasy Star Online 2 I recorded, which was the main game and the first two expansions. It was pretty hard lots of rarer words used and a bunch of expressions I never heard probably the hardest game I finished until now in japanese. There were lots of awesome characters in it the overall story may not be that great but it still had lots of interesting themes covered.

My goal for this challenge was to get back into reading in Japanese. I’d stopped bothering a looong time ago and I wanted to start enjoying it again. Well, it’s been nearly two months of forcing myself to read, but when I was walking the dog just now I suddenly found myself thinking “man I feel like reading the next chapter of Fullmetal Alchemist.” やった！Fake it till you make it works :sunglasses:
