I managed to salvage things somewhat with a long plane reading session. Still not even half as many pages as I read in July 
At least I’m back to being somewhere where the sun wants to melt me (I already want to leave again) so I should have more time inside to read.

More VN reading on my Switch. Reading with minimal lookups and switching to English to check my understanding. It’s so much fun when I see vocab from the last couple of levels!
Today I finished chapter 7 of LOOPERS and read a bit more from Clannad.
August 19th (Monday) to August 23th (Friday):
Every day, I read 2 articles from NHK Easy and 2 episodes (sometimes more) of Satori Reader (beginner level). To improve my understanding, the episodes I studied in one day, I listen to again the next day.
August 24th (Saturday) and August 25th (Sunday):
Since there is no NHK Easy on Saturday and Sunday, I read 2 tadoku books, and several episodes of Satori.

Chapter 3 of 鋼の錬金術師 - it’s definitely too difficult for me, but I’ve wanted to read it for years so I’m going to hang it out with the club for as long as I can manage!

did some pixiv reading instead. oh and a BL sample on cmoa. the set-up requires some serious suspension of disbelief but the characters were sweet with each other and there was hiroshima-ben!

A bit of 少女終末旅行, となりのロボット, and getting close to the end of 玉藻の恋! I also started あさがおと加瀬さん as something on the easier side. It’s really cute so far!
August 19-August 25
I’ve fallen behind a bit on logging my progress but I’ve been doing a bit… I have to get back into the habit of logging everyday because I noticed that I definitely do more when I do.
Mostly playing Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, started chapter 3 of FMA, slowly reading the last few chapters of Orange (maybe these being pretty much “bonus chapters” is what made me slow down quite a bit), some NHK news here and there…

Just a nominal amount of reading yesterday as I had lots of boring stuff I had to do to prepare for today. From today my life should be returning to a normal routine, which hopefully includes plenty of reading! (although I am eyeing up playing more 黎の軌跡II now that I am able to again…). There’s also a physical copy of マスカレード・ホテル ready for me to start so that I can catch up with the book club…

Back home and back to reading Island on my PC, looking up everything. Not much time to read today so only 1500 characters.
I have to say that I’m glad that I get to read on Switch with minimal lookups sometimes, and to read on my PC with frequent lookup sometimes. Intensive and extensive reading. I need both! And I’m very happy that I get to study while reading something I really enjoy!

- Another marathon session of 逆転裁判, finished questioning two witnesses this time. This really is quite a satisfying series for learning because you repeat dialogue a lot and look for contradictions… though I think this is the right level for me right now. (Apparently I’ve looked up 230 new words or so so far…)

Not read as much over the weekend as I’d have liked, but I’ve been busy working on portfolio stuff, so still productive in other areas.
Finished up Vol 5 of Bluelock and moved onto Vol 6.
Made a small dint in this week’s reading for FMA but this section is super tricky for me, lots of new vocab which is making reading a little tiresome Going to switch up tactic for this one and just chip away at a page or so every couple of hours to avoid burnout.
August 26
Mostly read nhk easy news and learned some words from there. Also feel really good about reaching the 8000 words logged in JPDB. I want to try to reach 10k mined words by the end of the year. It’s cool using the JPDB Reader plugin and seeing fewer and fewer words get highlighted as unknown on a page. I feel like I was stuck at around 4k,5k words since years but I can actually slowly feel my vocabulary improve again, which is great… Wanikani is helping a lot in that, just this morning I saw a news article about the Chiba prefecture and was like “Hey I can actually read that prefecture name!”
