Yea, there will be a fair amount of train journeys, and also we are renting a car for a few days, but I wont be the driver - so I should hopefully be able to squeeze in some reading time during journeys!

A touching chapter that ended on a cliffhanger! The next part is a 4-koma extras chapter, so I guess I won’t reach the resolution for a few days (limiting myself to one chapter per day) - スキップ・ビート! chapter 66, which finishes volume 11!

A chapter from my Spanish short stories for beginners and Week 5 of Ruri Dragon done. Which means I’ve finished Chapter 1 and also caught up to where I had stopped reading with the ABBC last year! Week 5 was a bit tough though… So much grammar and new words… 
I also just realized I’m going to be able to finish this right before the new ABBC book starts in March and right before my trip to Japan if I read two weeks of Ruri Dragon from the ABBC every week. It would also be my first manga to finish! On another note, I’m planning to get a physical copy of 老女的少女ひなたちゃん, which looks so adorable!
New words
- ビビる - to be surprised, to feel afraid, to be startled
- 姿「すがた」 - appearance, form
- 奇妙「きみょう」- strange, peculiar, odd
- 言いづらい 「いいづらい」- difficult to talk about
- 隠す「かくす」- to hide or conceal

wahoo! I finished Akiko on Friday, and 2nd grade biographies yesterday (Saturday). I’ve been reading that biographies book for so long I think I hadn’t really ever considered finishing it would happen. Even though I have 6 other ongoing reads, I’m going to miss it!
Next up (nonfiction)
I’m currently reading Reading Road (a collection of Japanese cultural articles, poems, etc). After finishing that, I’ll move on to a couple of other non-fiction books I bought year(s?) ago - 2nd grade science stories and a Japanese prefectures book. These were both ABBC picks. I’m going to read those more extensively, as I’m not 100% interested anymore, but interested just enough to actually read them before returning my attention to another biographies book.
Next up (Satori)
Fujiki Consulting Services. I’ve had my eye on this for a while. It’s much easier than the last time I tried episode 1 several months ago! I’m onto episode 2 and the difficulty level is perfect for me, and seems like it will be a really atmospheric story.

After a few days of not reading, I started playing Super Mario Wonder and am still spending a lot of time watching OoTR standard tournament. But wanted something different today, so I’ve read a bit more of the history manga. I think it mixes story and historical fact pretty well so far, so before it becomes too much fact, it switches. I would love more story but I also get that the amount of historical info available for yayoi period is pretty thin, so hopefully there will be more in later periods. Also hope we will get story versions of many of the big historical moments.

was a very light weekend, translated an entry in the bakumatsu book (which, tbf, i’d read before) yesterday, and today read a couple of pixiv stories, about 45 mins worth i think. in my defence i spent most of the weekend writing fanfic and made some good progress for the first time in a while does this count as defence

The quality is still going strong, at the end there was a new interesting character. In the atogaki, the author talked about an original side story with a different character being the MC, I want to read that… @Naphthalene Have you read the ルイス book? Seems like there’s going to be more volumes since that one is marked with a 上.
