Re Zero book club home thread

You could always listen to the audio books of various book club books…?

Books everywhere in that sentence. Sorry about that.

It is the new year when you have finished reading all that you were going to read the previous year, right…? :eyes::sweat_drops:

Oops.

Regarding the pace and everything around it I was planing to the a poll about it next week. I can make it today if you insist on it but the biggest change possible will be an increase of 5 pages per week sooo…

Oh! and for the content that was cut from the anime, I started seeing it in the epilogue of Volume 3. I started volume 4 not long ago and I already found some changes there too.

Does that even change the number of weeks required to finish the book?

It will probably be shorter by a week.

Yes please! The new rebroadcast starts tomorrow (1/1 22:30 in Japan), and it was just announced last night that crunchyroll will do it! This is a great opportunity to watch it now (just make sure not to look at PVs of the rebroadcast because they have heavy spoilers). They’ll be broadcasting a double episode each week until S2 starts in April. If you don’t want to watch ahead of what you’re reading, you can safely watch up to episode 12.

Been thinking of doing the same. Every time I try it I end up giving up, my listening lags hugely behind my reading. Recently, I’ve been getting into light novel audiobooks of novels I know, and I seem to be the most invested in them now. Been listening to Oregairu lately, and I’m kinda shocked at the high quality of the narration.

I thought that we can also present the following schedule (since I already did it), and we can vote on it if you’d like instead, since an exact pace per week isn’t feasible anyway:

Volume 4
1: Till end of chapter 1, page 53 (42 pages)
2: Till end of chapter 2 part 4, page 92 (37 pages)
3: Till end of chapter 3 part 4, page 132 (40 pages)
4: Till end of chapter 3, page 173 (37 pages)
5: Till end of chapter 4 part 4, page 222 (47 pages)
6: Till end of chapter 4, page 267 (45 pages)
7: Till end of chapter 5, page 313 (44 pages)
8: Till end of Epilogue, page 322 (8 pages)

Since the epilogue is very small, maybe it’s a good idea to just put it in the same previous week. We’ll get a week less this way.

Well in that case…

If we are going with Mrahhal pace should we put the 8th week alone?(8 pages)

  • Leave it alone
  • Combine it with week 7
  • Combine it with the after book discussion week

Do you know where these exist??? I have searched with no success… :turtle: :upside_down_face:

https://www.audible.co.jp (I believe you can also find the same ones on the US audible) had some of what I searched for, I don’t think there’s a platform that has more? Found both Kitchen and Conbini.

There’s also this site, audiobook.jp that comes up on google, though I can’t vouch for it as I haven’t tried it. :stuck_out_tongue: I didn’t find kitchen or konbini on there, but I did find かがみの孤城, 君の膵臓をたべたい and よるのばけもの, which are not on audible.

Some other ones that are on audible are 君の名は and our next pick in the IBC, 氷菓.

Sorry for further derailing the threadー Where did you find キッチン?I can’t seem to find it. :frowning:

So that’s weird, I thought I did but it seems it’s in English: https://www.audible.co.jp/pd/Kitchen-オーディオブック/B07K2JSLCF

(I did find Conbini in Japanese though)

Ah I see. ^^ That’s too bad then~

I expected more of the books we’ve read to have an audiobook, but they don’t seem to be quite that popular. (I’ve since found 幼女戦記 and 本好き, so that’s pretty good for when I finally get around to actually reading those.)

Yeah I pretty much only found 3 series I’m interested in, the 2 you mentioned and Oregairu. I didn’t think there would be so few, but the quality of these 3 is so so good.

Those 3 should keep for a bit at least, those are some long audiobooks. Have you listened to some of them already? It’s too bad there’s none for Re:ゼロ.

Just got 氷菓 and 本好き on audible for free. I already have the book for 氷菓 so it is pretty cool to be able to listen and read simultaneously. It is like having @sigolino on hand at all times to tell you the correct readings.

We all would like to have a @sigolino to read our kanji. Btw @sigolino are you still reading with us? I haven’t seen you in a while.
