@icefang97 Why do you keep reading ahead?

My pace is faster than the bookclub’s one so…

Making it harder to ask questions though

Welp, it’s decided that I won’t get up to date ever again. But I’ll keep reading at my pace and I’ll hang out in the threads in any case.

Yay, nice to see we’re in the same boat  let’s just comfortable lag behind a bit.

I figure as long as it’s still fun it’s fine however long it takes. :+1:

So… would it be legit if I also started reading ahead, then?

There never was any rule against it.

I mean that it’s better to follow the schedule to not be in a lag with the conversation or the questions thread but i’m not stop prevent anyone who as a faster speed to read ahead. Unless everyone does it the pace is not gonna raise so don’t need to worry about it :stuck_out_tongue:

And that was this week’s reading(for me, because I’ve finished reading it).

I didn’t realise the negotiation scene was as long as it was(and it probably isn’t even completely done yet, either, for that matter) until after I had finished reading and looked back to check. I like that the book doesn’t seem to be too afraid to spend some time on things so far, especially since most of the other books I’ve read recently had the opposite problem and rushed through things that could have been interesting way too quickly, so it’s good to see that this one isn’t making the same mistake yet

Since some other people mentioned it, I could probably also read faster now that I think about it, but it’s also nice to have time to read other things as well(SAO at the moment), so I’ll stick to the intended pace  (though, if we keep going with the series I may read the spinoffs myself at a faster pace if we don’t do those with the club)

Never heard of spinoff books. Definitly need to add that to the list

There are 3 EX novels right now. All are extremely good, but you can only start with them after volume 6 (for EX vol 1), unless if you watched the anime obviously. The English version of the EXs (especially EX vol 1) aren’t that good, I’ve read Vol 1 in English but I’m reading the rest in Japanese.

There are also a few short story collections in case you didn’t know that. I don’t know enough about the series myself to say when it would be best to read them, but I’m guessing that going by release order would be enough to avoid spoilers.

Well looks like this book club still has a long way before him. We should have read everything about Re Zero in the year… 4987. Seems reasonable to me.

Well, when I checked a list of all the volumes earlier to see when the short story collections had been released, I also checked how often the series gets new volumes. So far, the author has written an average of about four volumes per year for the main series, and five if you include the spinoffs/short story collections.

So, if we were to keep going and read everything and not just the main numbered volumes, our current pace of 35 pages/week is almost exactly as fast as the author seems to be writing the series  (we’re still slightly faster though, especially if you just count the main volumes)

Also, that’s one fast author

Also, volume 20 just got released

I’m done too for the week.

Gotta say, ロム爺 is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters, and I like how Subaru just instantly gets along with him. Also, yeah, the negociation scene was a lot longer than I remember from the anime.
