Awesome! If you’ve finished chapter 3, you’re already halfway through book 1! I’m hoping I can spend some time on the writing section for chapter 1 this weekend.

That is my sentiment exactly.

I crashed a bit this week on work and health and so I haven’t done any Quartet in a while now. I’m hoping this weekend to take some small steps to get back into it, especially the writing which I was enjoying but haven’t done in several weeks.

I’ve finished chapter 2! Did the speaking last week and the listening this week (Didn’t go amazingly) but its because I know they always change their mind about what they’re saying in stuff like this like “oh lets go to the cafe NO WAIT the library NO WAIT the hairdresser, actually the first option was better”, so then I anticipate that and sometimes over-analyse it and I got a couple questions wrong >:( but oh well it just lets me know my listening needs some extra attention.

Onto chapter 3!

Awesome! It’s great to see everybody go through quartet at their own pace as much as possible. Listening for N3 is like a rat trap. They put so many bait answers.
I am currently stuck in chapter 4 writing. I decided to convert to japanese handwriting and it made the writing section super time consuming.
But it’s fun learning the stroke order for kanji.

I finally got my act together and finished the chapter 1 writing. Now I get to move on to chapter 2! It definitely didn’t take me 3 months to do chapter 1. :sweat_smile: :sweat_smile: :sweat_smile:

As expected, the writing caused the most friction for me in terms of making the time to work on it, which resulted in a lot of procrastination (plus life disruptions etc). Hopefully now that I’m working on a writing habit, it’ll be easier for me to do a little bit every day (since I’m writing every day anyways) and I won’t have such a mental block around it. I’ll post my writing in the other thread as soon as I get the corrections and do edits and everything.

Moving on to chapter 2!! :running_man: How is everyone else doing?

Congrats!

I let my attention get hijacked by joining the IBC, so the short answer is I’m still on that Ch 1 writing. I seem to have bit off way more than I can chew in terms of number of clubs, textbooks and kanji study, which was delicately working until lifeTM started taking up more time. But I do want to make progress on my writing and output, and Quartet is a great way to do it. my weekends will start to free up more soon so I’m hopeful I’ll be back to it soon.

Once you do, you’ll have company, I’m still on Ch 1!

Yayyy congrats

I think I’ll have to put Quartet on a break until the JLPT is over cause I’m trying to speedrun kanzen master and sou matome before the exam and having quartet additionally looming over me is stressing me out lolol But I shall be BACK with a VENGEANCE in december :muscle:

I still have my partially gone-through Nihongo Sou Matoume from my most recent failed N3 attempt. I really felt like this is my year, but registrations were all full by the time I went to register for Dec24 :sweat_smile:

I feel that. But working on reading an adult level novel is awesome, and I bet you’ll get exposure to all the grammar in Quartet anyways. When you come back, you’ll probably be familiar with everything!

I’ve finished the reading and listening sections for Chapter 2 :ballot_box_with_check: I have to admit, I hate these textbook listening sections and totally zoned out during the second one then cheated by looking at the answers :face_with_peeking_eye: I honestly find it trickier/more time consuming to read the grammar pages than the actual readings, they’re much longer and I have to think about new grammar.

Now all that’s left is the writing, which is a letter of thanks. I have no idea who to thank.

Edit: I thought of something. Writing done!!

Finished reading 1 plus grammar for chapter 3 :raising_hands::raising_hands: it always takes so long I forgot, next time I think I’ll split grammar into its own day and then the reading another day, especially if I’m making practice sentences for new gramm. Maybe I should start writing practice sentences for new vocab too? :thinking:

I have to split the grammar sections into like 3 days because if I try to read them in one go I get tired by the end and start skipping the example sentences :sweat_smile:

I still haven’t ripped open the plastic cover of my Quartet, so I’m admiring all of your progress (even if you feel that it’s slow)

Same. When try to read too many grammar points in one day, they all blur together in my mind. I usually skipped back and forth between the different sections to mix things up a bit. E.g. one day I’d read two grammar points and do their workbook exercises and then read a reading strategy section or something.
