It’s amazing how dynamic the performance scenes are drawn and composed. Even though you’re not hearing the music or see the way they move on the stage, you can still feel it.
LI loved the reappearance of the two women from the first BLAST performance we saw – before they were front row and now they can’t even get in! Also lol @ them fighting over Yasu.
The panel of everyone being greeted by fans outside the show – and Shin just standing there getting his head patted like a dog, haha.
Isn’t this the second time Hachi has made a huge post-performance feast? My heart aches!!!
I want to know more about Misato. Not that I think she has some weird mysterious background or anything, but I’d love just to know more about her life. In my mind she is kind of like the MC from Kamikaze Girls, living in the country and coming into Tokyo to buy clothes and see her favorite band.
Misato again assuming Nana and Hachi are a couple…Yazawa knows what she is doing!!!
I feel like there have been hints at some underlying dynamic between Takumi and Reira. What are people’s thoughts on that?
SIGH Hachi reaching out to Takumi…I understand but it’s just so hard to see! She feels so lonely and doesn’t want to be a burden on Nana; Junko is starting to feel like part of another world that she’s no longer a part of (and probably one still associated with Shoji). Grahhhhhhhhhhh!
Nobu your pouting and feeling sorry for yourself isn’t very becoming!
Oh I didn’t even notice they were from the last one
I kinda loved their whole exchange. And I loved it even more because they were clearly doing it in front of a well dressed man who didn’t really seem to fit the vibe of the concert
They’re definitely childhood friends, based on the conversation from the beach a (few?) volume(s) back. I don’t know what else to make of it beyond that. Reira is my big mysterious character in the story.. I mean, I think she’s supposed to be, but I’d really like to know more of what’s going on with her.
Same. I think that’s the worst part of it. I understand her actions totally. I just hate them.
I’m in an annoying spot bc I remember one (well I guess two, very related) huge plot points from the anime but I have no idea when they’re coming.
They look exactly like Nana but they’re not pulling off the look as well. I was so impressed how she drew them with the same clothes and features and also managed to make it look like they were copying her and not as suited to the look.
Hehe I remember two too. I wonder if they are the same. Maybe I remember 3 actually
And a bit surprised that one of them will happen so soon in this volume already, but this manga does have a fast paced plot from the beginning I feel like!
I really liked this chapter, I feel like nothing sad has happened for once
Pretty wholesome to see everyone get together for Hachi. Nana’s way of breaking it to Nobu was very funny, I didn’t know where she was going with that xD
Hachi is pretty lucid too with how she is using Takumi, though she thinks of herself as a bad person for doing that, while from Shin’s point of view she is just lonely.
And how Hachi praised Nobu’s writing was a nice scene too.
And the scene with Nobu felt 99% great, could have been 100% if Takumi was out of the picture BEFORE…
And another reason why I love this manga (so besides the characters, the drawing, the story, the realistic depiction of feelings and relationships), is how amazing the drawing and continuity between the scenes is, with always small details you can spot.
Like Takumi reading Hachi’s note in the background…
I probably had more to say about these when I saved them, but now I don’t remember what I wanted to say. Next time I’ll try and not forget about a draft I started almost a week ago
I disagree! Right from the start, he said that he called her after the dinner to say thanks, and usually he never would call.
Then when she texted him “by the way don’t visit a friend is staying over”, he called immediately to know if it was a female friend at least.
Then even though he was dead tired, he said yes to meet up with Nana.
(I know I’m being the literal devil’s advocate now, but yeah, unfortunately I can’t put all the fault on him)
Funny how I wasn’t shocked by that at the time. And I’ve also seen way worse in Japanese media since (14, 9 year olds… at that point 16 is almost old)
