The age of consent in Japan was raised recently and I believe is 16. And when this volume was written it was 14. So. Not prison.

I am such a ノブ派, but seriously, how can you not be?!?!
I know they’re all of what, 20? So there’s a lot of big words that I don’t know if he’ll be able to back up in the long run, but I think he believes what he’s saying to her.
I’m not even Japanese and I think I’m with Hachi here.
Did Ren think it was his Nana bc Takumi said she was こわい?
Somehow, I feel like taking down the poster is an even bigger deal than her calling him.

This is my read of Takumi’s feelings for her. It’s way less about her and more how their relationship impacts him. (Yep, I continue to hate that fkkin guy).

Totally agree (and I have a bad feeling this will come back to bite her).
But on the other hand, given the 曖昧-ness of their relationship, if she just doesn’t take his calls going forward, I think she’d be ok.
It’s not gonna be that easy.. though, is it?
It can’t be.. we have a whole 'nother chapter in this manga and then I have to wait a whole month to read #8

I finally finished volume 7 last night…assorted and unorganized thoughts incoming!

Seeing Hachi and Nobu fall in love is so touching and so beautiful. It’s such a stark contrast to her relationship with Takumi (though I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of him). It makes me so happy to see the characters suit each other so well, and be so joyful. Since it’s been a while, I also didn’t quite remember how Hachi and Nobu’s relationship dynamic was and now I’m even more convinced that anyone who is Team Takumi has major issues (including the author herself, who on multiple times said she liked Takumi more LOL).

Maybe I’m just reading too much into it, but Misato having a sort-of “secret identity” is hinted at, no? I mean, I feel like her conversation with Yasu makes it clear she’s using a fake name, and also maybe isn’t a student, either…

Okay I know I’ve mentioned this before (and I recall some others feeling the same) I cannot figure out why Kyosuke and Junko’s dialogue is so difficult for me to understand. Like I feel like my eyes just glaze over and don’t actually pick up on a single concrete thought. What is with that??

I feel like after so much build-up to their reunion, we really haven’t seen Nana and Ren interact much – at least in this volume?

Hachi and Nobu’s relationship makes Nana so happy, but also brings out her controlling and possessive side. It’s interesting to see that emerge. It seems like she knows it’s toxic, but can’t quite stop it. In the final panels, with her sitting along the river, I felt so melancholy – like I could feel all the doubt and confusing swirling in her head. Ah!
Now that I’m caught up I can’t wait to start volume 8!

I have mixed feelings with Takumi. Sometimes I find him sweet enough (like he said he never calls or texts but he got Nana’s number, or agreed to meet her despite his busy schedule), and other times he does things I would never forgive (like when he went back to her after completely existing that she existed just to spite Blast members 
).
But yeah, all in all I don’t disagree with you!
Definitely, 7.8 confirms that it’s very likely not her real name, but doesn’t give any more info.
Yay me too! I’ve been reading 7.8 but it’s nowhere near as exciting as the main story

One of the reasons I fell behind this past month is because I didn’t have a lot of time to read and every time I opened Nana I would end up in the middle of that discussion at the end of the volume, attempt to read one page, understand 20% of it, close the book and repeat two days later.
I finally made it through. By which I mean, I gave up and accepted that I wasn’t meant to understand what they say and pushed through to the end.

I can see why I struggle with the Japanese, it’s pretty disconnected and abstract even in Fr*nch.
“Nana doesn’t love me for what I am! She only loves me because I love her”.
“Nana’s feeling are so one-sided that she doesn’t manage to express them”.
