Ah I should have known that the resolution was coming so soon, seeing the last page of chapter 8. So maybe nothing terrible will happen on the 5月5日 after all. Next date to watch out for will be the 5月26日 then! (also, 3rd time that they try to make us believe that Ren is here, it’s getting dangerous, might become a running gag 
)

I managed to get through chapter 9 with a lot of looking up words and a certain amount of googling and AI. But I am on vacation so we’ll see how it goes when I’m back at work. I certainly came in on a dramatic note!
I probably misunderstood some things, but I do have a couple of questions; if anyone can help, that would be great.
ハチ is talking about the weather. Even though the kanji 位 is used, this is the particle, right? Maybe like here: “Like it thinks it’s already summer, there are hot days, then like it’s going back to winter on it’s own, there are cold days.”
シン’s comment on that page was a bit too topical…
Can anyone transcribe the hand written note? I can see a couple of kanji but…
Yes I believe 位, read くらい, means “to the point / degree that”
[もう夏かと思う位] is qualifying [暑い日], → “hot days to the point that you would think is it summer already?”,
[冬に戻るのかって位] is qualifying [寒い日], → "cold days to the point that you would think is winter back already? "

For line two maybe 届いた書留? “Arrived registered mail”. That would fit with the translation you have.

Random other thoughts:
I’m not for violence but Nana ready to punch out Shoji made me start crushing on her now.
Nana just calling Hachi’s mom “Natsuko” (another na name!) is hilarious and so in character.
I hadn’t really noticed it before, but the Trapnest poster had everyone but Ren looking to the side so that he’s just staring directly at you. It’s really good for all of the emotional moments that Yazawa sensei loves to use it for.
Nana on the toilet when the tickets arrive made me laugh way harder than it should have

That was a long chapter but I really liked it. A lot of great drawings. 京助 turns out to be better at dealing with the breakup than 淳子 (although seemingly for sexist reasons? Oh well).
The concert was really fun. The drawings of them on stage are so cool, they really convey the ビジュアル well.
After that we have some good conflict and character growth. Looking forward to next chapter.
I really liked this chapter too.
Junko being told how poorly she handled the situation.
Shouji trying to disappear from the manga because he knows everyone hates him now, but not being allowed too.
The first meeting with Misato for Hachi and her wondering what was going on there, while at the same time teaming up to gather a crowd before the concert.
The concert.
Then the rest of the chapter was more painful to read, seeing Hachi hurting and hurting Nana back 
I do think ナナ may have needed something like that though. We don’t really know what she’s up to at this point (besides the band stuff of course) but she doesn’t seem to have processed the whole Ren thing and appears to be toying with people while she’s having fun and then pushing them away when things get serious.
The weird relationship she has with 美里 seems unhealthy for the both of them frankly. The whole “I called her to tell her there was a concert but didn’t expect her to come” is very unconvincing. I don’t think 奈々 was very diplomatic when she put her foot down but hopefully it can lead to positive change down the line.
It’s amusing that 奈々 is now the grown-up in the relationship.
Forgot to write that I was a bit shocked to learn that Misato was only 17. As far as I remember Nana was 16 or 17 in volume 1, when Misato was already leading the fan club!?
