I said I’d write this nearly a week ago but life happened 
I started this challenge by watching Ghibli movies multiple times in a row, with different subtitles - I loved it and I surprised myself by how much I understood. Then I watched The Boyfriend and loved listening to natural japanese - it really was such a great study source. If I were to change anything about what I did in this challenge, it would be that I am not sure why I stopped watching japanese shows and movies. I think it was mainly a time thing, because I was trying to fit so much else in my day, that it made more timely sense to listen to news articles and actual japanese lessons instead. Anyway, I’ve decided I’ll fit in some shows and movies too from now on, since the joy it brings me is worth the extra time it takes to watch something repeatedly and to study what’s said.
I find it hard to stick to a daily goal for an extended period of time, so I am proud of myself that I always at least listened to three news articles, even when I was traveling, having a hard mental health day or not sleeping. This challenge has helped my japanese learning by so much, and it was always rewarding when I understood and learned new things. I’m so grateful that I checked out this website’s forums out of curiosity when I decided to pick up Japanese again, and it definitely helped me stick to it. I had so much fun and I will definitely do this challenge again in the future.
