I finished that playlist, found new 老师 channels, but still want to find a playlist to listen to everyday for Chinese linguistics.
Chinese listening is challenging to be done everyday, missing 12 days in 2 months, and I don’t want to force myself for full calendar in vain.
About Japanese, audiobooks 本好きの下剋上 Vol.5-7 is going pretty well, though I also read afterwards regularly. YouTube without sub usually don’t have trouble, but I often paused to read the on-screen text (just how fast can natives read), sometimes paused and rewinded for the audio.
For podcasts, it depends. I did OK with YUYU most of the time. 言語交換 (ja/zh-TW) most of the time on Japanese part, but also depending on the episodes. Rebuild – fair. Daily brief and Round Up the Word – poor.
るろうに剣心 S3E1-15, I used JP sub. But the weirdly slow progress, is that I don’t like the series that much. (Maybe comment later when I finish the season and series.)
Yamato’s voice is deeper than what I’ve been using for him, but luckily not so much so that I can’t see it as him. There is still a bit of 違和感, though. (I don’t think I had any specific seiyuu in mind, but I imagined him as having a soft tenor.)
I kinda feel like I should have restarted Limit tbh. The last chapter I listened to was 13, so I started from that, but I still didn’t really remember what was going on. Oh well. Not like I’ll never relisten (or reread—though I actually don’t have Limit yet. I coulda got it with my last CDJ order, but I opted to get all the remaining Amasawa Natsuki novels instead).
The 昔話 I listened to because 貝に続く場所にて uses the line “カタリナは銀の声で呟く” and since “銀の声” clearly isn’t related to the word “silvertongue” and “銀” doesn’t have any definitions not relating to the metal or color or to money, I had no idea what it meant. Yeah, I don’t think it has anything to do with the 昔話, either. My best guess is that it means “澄んだ声.”
Dang, I skipped 4 weeks of listening activity haha I would like to rectify this in the next coming weeks.
It just so happened that my friend who’s a mystery/thriller genre lover invited me to watch anime with him during the weekends that it didn’t occur to me it was a listening/watching activity haha
Materials for this week:
Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions EP01-EP08
Not as many jpod101 lessons as I’d like, but this last week was a bit of a push to complete my painting commission (which I did finish! ) so that meant I didn’t focus on japanese as much. I did listen to those three lessons on repeat as I painted though! Oh, I also had some other exciting things happen! Anyway, tomorrow will be my last day of this challenge!!! So I’ll do a final “review” tomorrow. It seems like other people are going past the two month time limit? That’s awesome, keep it up! (I’m going to stop at two months though haha)
Rather than seeing yourself as having the character traits of a particular blood type, YUYU suggests that we all have traits from all the blood types. Talking about how much he dislikes putting away clothes he says a naked lifestyle would be preferable (笑)
manhua and media rec with link. Also shadowing and copying subtitle by handwriting (text can’t be selected anyway, OCR unreliable, IME is too pinyin-focused).
