Lesson batch size limit

The lesson batch size in settings is limited to to a maximum of 10. Can this limit be removed? I’d prefer to just do one quiz at the end instead of a quiz every N lessons.

You can use the Advanced option which would open the Lesson Picker and allow you to form a custom session.

That still triggers a quiz every 10 lessons (depending on preferred lesson batch size) unless I’m misunderstanding something.

  1. Click Advanced
  2. Select lessons (e.g., 20 vocab words)
  3. Click Start Lessons
  4. Quiz is triggered after the 10th word. I want to delay the quiz until the end, after the 20th word.

Ah, I see, sorry for the misunderstanding

Wait, I’ve just had a custom session of 11 lessons:

I got quizzed for all of them in the same quiz, without splitting them into batches (i. e. it wasn’t like I got 10 lessons, was quizzed on them and then got another lesson and quiz on it)…

It’s been announced before across all the changes made to lessons and the introduction of the picker that they’ve made it so if your batch would leave a small number of items (like 1 or 2 or maybe also 3), it will add those in to the current batch to prevent that.

The batch size is still limited to 10, and an increase to this has been requested for many years now with no change, it’s not likely to be increased soon (although continuing to ask is still the best course of action).

That’s unfortunate to hear. I knew I couldn’t have been the only one asking for this. In the meantime, I will use Smouldering Durtles which doesn’t have this arbitrary limit.

I’m not sure how it works exactly, but they do try to avoid batches with just a couple of lessons followed by a quiz, so sometimes you get them with more than 10 lessons to prevent this!

You shouldn’t treat the quiz right after lessons as review, it is just to check if you were paying attention. If you want to follow lessons with test, you can use self-study quiz:
