Slow down lessons

I have 9 lessons at the same time, I feel thats too much for me. Can I do 5 and somehow exit with 4 remaining for a later time?

Menu (top right) > Settings > Lesson size batching

from there change from 9 to 5 or however many you want

Do you mean, as a batch (you have to learn 9 words before doing that quiz)?

If so,

Settings => Lesson batch sizing

Lesson batch sizing

Set the number of new lessons to be introduced before the quiz session.
