Ah, I guess that’s true for someone who is seeing that page for the first time.
I think that should be mentioned (or featured more obviously if I missed it ).
In general, when I see testimonials, it’s hard for me to judge why I should care about them.*
That’s fine, I think, although having someone like, I don’t know, @jprspereira in there means that people can actually go to the forum and see in more details how WK benefited the users.
Anyway, sorry for bothering you with that. I’m not even sure the typical lifetime buyer would make it to the testimonials anyway. I assume they are already convinced if they clicked on that link
* I’m mostly thinking of another famous Japanese learning service that has testimonials of people that only made it at best to the lower intermediate proficiency level, which doesn’t feel really convincing.
Oh sorry, I may have confused these with other testimonials in our emails that are from level 60 users! But either way, these are definitely real users I will check on their levels. That being said, a lot of users (I’m guessing majority) don’t actually actively use the forum but I understand what you’re saying about seeing people you know on the testimonial!
The initial pages all looked good, showing the approximate prorated price except for that one page without price. I also found the redirection to the current plans page a bit confusing, might be good to maybe make the “change plans” button more visible during the sale or something?
The payment window had two lines for German VAT, both identical and $0, so not sure what they’re for? (I know sometimes you have to list VAT even if it’s nothing, but at least one of those lines isn’t needed)
And after paying the page below the “Subscription” header is blank/empty for me as well, but the payment did go through and the page looks fine now when I open it again.
Uh oh, uh oh, I had the discounted rate up, clicked submit and was confused when my receipt page said $278 (the non-discounted but prorated amount). If your comment marks the time the sale closed, I was just two minutes outside the window but in the middle of the process. Can I reach out via email for someone to take a look?
It did work in my browser (Chrome running on Windows 10). The prorated amount was the same as it was on the checkout page. I am now a lifetime member and my credit card is currently pending the correct amount. Finally, I liked Variation 1 best. I did run into the same issue as Daisoujou with the blank subscription page.
Thanks for the feedback! We’ll look into the blank page tomorrow and hopefully have it fixed before the actual sale.
$299 is the regular price! We turned off the sale so that’s what you should see right now.
Please send us an email hello@wanikani.com I commented a few minutes after we turned it off actually, but no worries, we’ll sort it out with you via email.
A bit late with the feedback here so idk if it’ll be useful, but I changed my subscription to life time a couple of hours ago, and everything looked good (used chrome on my phone). It showed the right prorated price from my monthly subscription, and charged me correctly as far as I can see.
Temptation is big, but I can’t afford it for now. my “pesos” are really devalued right now.
All variations looked fine for me, it is over now. But I have to ask, there will be a sale to pass from monthly to annual any soon? Thanks
I’m late… I want the lifetime discount so bad. my subscription will end at 17 but the discount start at 20, what a waste if add 1 more month subs when 3 more days the discount start😭
If I understand the process correctly, you pay another month on the 17th, and on the 20th, when you buy your discounted lifetime you get all but 3 days of your month back (the proration part). How is that a waste? I mean is it still $9 a month? That’s like $0.30 a day? WK is an incredible value at $0.30 a day, it’s an insane value for the discounted lifetime. Alternatively you let your subscription lapse for 3 days and then buy the lifetime. I presume WK doesn’t wipe all your data when your subscription goes dormant.
I’m just hoping they never stop paying their hosting service.
