Took me a few days until I had some extra free time to post this, but here is the end of my 1260 day (3.5 years) journey as of 4/21/2019.
A tons of downs with a couple of ups if you look at my level duration. Unlike some others I jumped into this without understanding the system or SRS in general as well as it me taking a while to get a system that worked for me and get into a sort of rhythm. Then it was just juggling night shift work with, long vacations, 2 month hospitalization event for an infection, anime, games, light novels, other misc demotivation moments…
I admit sure you guys in the forum were a good source of news and entertainment, but damn the distractions when I really needed to do my reviews in the only 30 minutes I had! I think I would consider myself in the minority of people that finish wanikani in > 2 years? (now to start my lvl 59 vocab )

Seriously, congratz for sticking around for so long! Don’t downgrade yourself! You’ve made it! A lot of people quick right away, but you didn’t! Even after all the adversities, you sticked to it in your own way and refused to give up! That’s worth praising!
