My trick is to remember the expression “光栄です” (it’s/it would be my honor; quite common in fantasy or 時代 settings). Since that cannot be glory, the other one is glory.

Kind of a specific example, but the tagline for NieR: Automata is 人類に栄光あれ (“Glory to Mankind”)

These two are all I need to remember, what beautiful examples.

I got these wrong a couple of time, but it made sense for me to think about it this way for me : i only look at the first character.

光 (light - as in the light side opposed to the dark side) is easily associated with honor.

While 栄 (prosper - think of mansions, castles, someone who has won many battes) can be associated with glory.

I don’t think it’s easy to apply that trick without knowing that expression though
