I’ve noticed that I’m getting like 50% accuracy on my reviews, I don’t know if I should just start over or keep pushing through the mounds of reviews
600 reviews isn’t too much and you’re only on level 5. I would recommend just doing your reviews and not adding any more new lessons for awhile. The SRS will balance itself out before long. If you reset it will take longer to get back where you were.
I’d say since you are only level 5, it may be beneficial to reset to level 2 or 3 so that your workload is decreased.
Alright, thank you! I was just worried that this issue would persist for a while
Yeah, this seems like the better route to me too…
I mean the workload is only decreased temporarily. In the long run it will mean more work and more time spent. 600 reviews is not that much and it won’t take more than two weeks for it become stable again if they do their reviews everyday
that’s true, but it also depends on the person’s life, habits, margin, and ability to actually remember what was in those levels (and being at a confident level of understanding), and the pace one wishes to set/maintain. And I’d argue that Levels 2 and 3 have some critical kanji items that will impact the rest of the journey.
Resetting one or two levels was ESSENTIAL for me after just a 1 month delay (Review pile-up + vacation).
Either way could be fine, but it doesn’t hurt to take a mini step back if that helps to create an on-ramp to build some momentum.
The key is to find what is comfortable and works best for YOU.
600 Reviews is probably where I would just stop all together. I know, because that is the way I am. I would see that list, become dejected and decide the heck with it. This is why I for 102 of the last 102 days, I have studied Kanji on WK.
But that is me, and based on other comments here, it seems like you may have a good plan that won’t have you reset. For me, a reset would be an absolutely last ditch thing. 600 is doable if you stop doing new lessons and get your Apprentice items to Guru level.
I find 50-120 Apprentice items is comfortable for me. Everyone is different though and I hope you can find what works for you.
The only other thing I will say is, don’t give up!
I’m a proponent of resetting a couple levels after a long hiatus because a lot of the difficult reviews are in fact the items from the most recent levels. Resetting a couple levels allows you to reset the SRS on those items and redo those lessons, treating them like new items because they pretty much are completely new items. Resetting a couple levels is a much smaller “setback” than resetting completely, so I don’t consider it a very drastic measure.
Yeah, it is a little bit demotivating, but I’m getting on it! I’m only 14 and I have plenty of time to do these reviews and keep at it every day

I have to say this… 14? My respect meter is at 100% for you.
Old Man Voice…Back in my day… when I was 14… too many years ago now, I was in Spanish class. I had no interest and no motivation and the only things I learned and retain are the things I shouldn’t say to people.
Keep on Japanese, keep the motivation, and any time you need help, everyone in the community has been awesome at getting others (myself included) back on track.
Yeah totally, I’ve been slacking a lot lately and I’m trying to get back on a good track
