Hi everyone. I studied kanji and Japanese daily for four years until, unfortunately, I became burned out and had to put everything (including work) on hold for a few months. When I finally recovered, I had changed jobs to my dream job as a language nerd, teaching my native language to adult immigrants.
When I finally had the energy again, my focus shifted to studying Russian and a bit of Arabic, as they are the majority languages in my classes. After two years, I can finally speak these languages brokenly enough to be able to focus on the language I love most—Japanese. I’ve gone back to level 1 because I’ve noticed that I struggle with reading many kanji that aren’t used much, and I don’t remember all the alternative meanings for characters and words. It’s incredibly nice to be back, and I’m excited to actually maintain a decent pace this time (at least until level 30-ish), as I’m not starting from scratch. I’m so incredibly excited to study a language again that I only have as a hobby, and not as a job!
お帰りなさい!また一緒に頑張りましょう。
