I’m just starting level 14 and have 919 enlightened items but 0 burned. I’m a bit confused as to why and if this is a good or bad thing.

Not bad. Means you have a pretty high pace going through the levels, maybe. They’ll start coming in about 6 months after you did the first lessons, at the earliest.

the SRS interval from Enlightened to Burned is 4 month, so it takes quite a while before you can burn anything.

As others have said, it’s just a matter of time before you burn something.
If you level fast (7days/level), you’ll probably be level 20+ by the time you burn anything. I was lv 24 or 26 I think. Other users can have burned quite a number of items by then. But, that essentially just means they’ve been leveling slower (perhaps once or twice a month).
So, it’s neither good or bad. It just is what it is.
if you install the Heatmap script you can easier get an overview of when your first burns are due.
