It looks like persona is only going to be a weekend thing for mio, so thankfully I’ll have some time to catch up

Listened to Comprehensible Japanese Beginner Japanese playlist videos 3 and 4 about karaoke and coffee respectively. Since the grammar is still pretty basic and she speaks slowly, I listened to this videos at 1.25 speed and it was still understandable! I think I’ll go about listening to the rest with the same speed for a couple more days and then determine if I should go ahead with the intermediate videos.
Edit: Found time to watch some Spanish videos by Spanish after Hours on youtube! Not sure if I’ll stick with her though, because she only has mostly beginner videos.

A continuation of the Japanese riddle video from the other day, week… whenever that was. They got the answers so fast. I didn’t get any on this one either, even after pausing each time to think, at least I understood the answers each time.

Was watching a couple hours of this yesterday, so I continued another hour or so today. I’m kinda terrified at the reading speed of native people, it’s like the fast forward button suddenly is on or something. I’ve seen other people read too, like Shishiro Botan in her let’s play of Raft. I can barely keep up when they’re reading out loud even with the message right there on the screen, usually I have to pause if I want to get what it is about. It’s wild to me.

Today’s listening practice was another episode of Japanese from Small Talk. Not sure if I was distracted, just a little burnt out after reading セーラー服と機関銃 just before, or if it was a harder topic, but this feels like one of my weaker episodes for comprehension really.

Listened to Daily with Naoko’s episode titled “Things are tough nowadays” set in Spain, but oddly enough the tough things she talked about was about Japan society and rules.

Started a new anime today since the last two weeks listening practice has been full of podcasts and I needed some variety. I picked a little higher on the difficulty curve this time with Natively level 24, and I think honestly part of that rating is probably just the sparsity of dialogue. Some of those camping explanation scenes had a lot of specialised vocab so I definitely needed my JP sub setup for this week, compared to きんいろモザイク which I watched raw.
I listen to TV Japan {NHK} every night, always the news, but also some of the travel programs as well.

Yesterday I was really tired and could feel everything I was listening to just slide off my brain, so I took the day mostly off from japanese! worked on other stuff instead and took a nice break. Back to it today, though

Listened to the corresponding audio for Sakura and Suzuki episodes 27 - 29 before reading them and also listened to Comprehensible Japanese - Beginner Japanese episode on Pets. For Sakura and Suzuki, I really have a hard time comprehending what they’re saying if I don’t read along because I get a lot of the meaning behind the sounds by looking at the kanji… I don’t know if I’m getting any better at it. Beginner Japanese episode was still on 1.25 speed with no problems.

A vlog on Awashima. Some of the other people talking were quite hard to hear because they were either quiet or muffled, but I think I mostly picked up on everything.
Oops forgot to post for a few days. For intensive listening I’m still doing Comprehensible Japanese intermediate and Nihongo-learning beginner, and I added Daily Japanese with Naoko. For extensive listening
I started watching Terrace House and Noragami. Thanks to Netflix it’s pretty easy to get several hours of extensive listening every day.

General Japanese to use in restaurants when ordering and such. Pretty helpful video. There was a lot of talking so I did get a bit lost at times. Especially when she was going through the menu, that was quite hard to keep up with.
The two different curries being split with the rice in the middle is a pretty cool thing. I also learnt of something new: 温泉卵 onsen egg!
