Another walk + listen day today, and with it another episode of Japanese from Small Talk down.
I did 20,000 steps, which my fitbit says burned like 4,000 calories, and I also did some cycling today. Now I am very worn out.

With just over a week left to go, to be on pace I should be at just under 76 hours. I still have a little lead, but it’s shrinking

Talking about movies! I feel I could follow this one pretty well. I think it’s because of how good this channel is, but I’m always surprised at how much I can understand and can follow this channel’s vids.

It got kind of late today so I only ended up watching two today, but still got my practice in with watching episodes of Yuru Camp.
My TV service notified me that TV Japan (NHK) will no longer be shown in the U.S. starting in a month. I love that channel. It will be replaced with Nippon TV. I hope that is as good as TV Japan and that there will be good programs for me to listen to. Anybody know anything about Nipon TV?
From what I can find from a quick skim, it looks like Nippon TV is the main distributor of Japanese shows and movies in the US. For example, they currently distribute everything on Hulu that is Japanese.
I think the main difference is that there will be fewer NHK-style educational programs and news, and more J-dramas and reality TV. There may also be anime aired, but anime rights for regular programming are difficult to get for the US these days. When your service provider switches to Nippon, feel free to come back in here and give us your review

Listened to the audio for Sakura and Suzuki episodes 30 - 36!
I’ll defntely let you know what I think of Nipon TV. It sounds like I might like NHK better, but we’ll see. There will still be listening practice, though, and it is $10.00 a month cheaper.
For several days now… I’ve been watching the videos you post. They’re great, thanks for sharing!

Sakura and Suzuki on Satori Reader, ep. 33 to 38.
I understood a lot today in Sakura and Suzuki, before even reading the texts. In particular, I was very proud to understand a reference to one of my favorite myths in Japan (the legend of Tanabata). It was a nice surprise to hear about this myth in this series.
