Krillin’s bald lil’ head never ceases to entertain me

とてもじゃないけど (p. 143) threw me at first, but I found this source.

I think it’s the first meaning here.

I am just about to right chapter 18 after skimming 16 and 17. I had been so busy at work that my Japanese reading suffered :disappointed:.

This is a small group but I’m very happy to continue reading volume 3, since 1) I already have it 2) this is very enjoyable!

On another note… I loved the underwater art. It was so pretty in color! Abs sad that we missed the whole part of goku finding bulma in the big city, that would have been quite funny!

Same here, would love to continue. I have noticed that I’ve really improved my reading speed since we started this club (probably got used to this specific style), so it has reached the point where it is almost a leisurely activity

I’ll make a poll in the home thread!

I’ll second that. I’ve definitely got familiar with the style and vocabulary and this has been become predominantly an enjoyable read rather than a study exercise. I do go back and read the chapter again looking up some vocab and breaking down the sentences and enjoy doing that too.

Loving the full colour, the humour, and all the in jokes.

+2 on that of becoming easier! The sentences that in the first chapters were awkward and difficult now make more sense.
It also makes a huge difference that I was below level 10 on WK before and now I am at 29! The manga actually help me retain some new Kanji and vocabulary.

I’ve been the original in parallel and is super enjoyable.

PS: I am also thankful that the Tohokuben disappeared!

Bulma says ゴロニャーン. I recognised にゃん as being “miaow”. I found ゴロゴロ as purring like a cat. So I’m guessing this is all supposed to be onomatopoeia for cat noises, which clearly fits with the picture!

I didn’t know the words オカマ and おねえ. Here are a few references I found useful looking up these words. While オカマ seems to carry a strong connotation of being an effeminate man or a transexual, it feels in context that she is just saying he is homosexual. He certainly doesn’t really come across as effeminate, except perhaps his worry about seawater being bad for his skin!

The two things you focussed on were precisely the two things that puzzled me at first. Thanks for the help!

Aaaaaand that’s another volume done  'twas a pleasure, as always

I wonder if my print version has more bonus material than the ebook?

I have this 12 page story which covers the opening part of the Battle of the Gods movie (promoting the DVD which was released at a similar time to the book in 2014)

And then these two (4 pages and 1 page)

The Battle of the Gods bonus section I found quite a bit more tricky to read than our usual story.

That was in my digital version as well, but I skipped it cause it looked hard LOL
