That definitely was one of the easier chapters, it was a nice start!
I’ve been trying to catch up, but technically still about half way through volume 1 (I’ve read/watched with English subs many times so know the story). Hopefully I can stay up to date here and also work my way through the previous volumes.

@bellacarr Great! I admire your effort, it’s already a bit of a hassle to read 1 chapter of death note per week, I can’t imagine having to read more to catch up haha
I’m reading this week’s chapter at the moment and realised there isn’t any vocab for this volume in the google sheets - shall I add some of the vocabulary I look up whilst reading, or would you guys prefer to leave it?
It’s curious how Misa’s reaction to recovering her memories was so much different from Light’s. Does this maybe show the difference in personalities that acquiring the death note caused in each one of them? Maybe Misa being the least affected. Could also be that her memories of the death note are mostly positive, spending them with Light, as she says on the next panel.
Maybe Light’s scream was the no-deathnote personality reacting to what the deathnote Light did, in its last moments of consciousness. Or maybe I’m just looking too deep into this hahaha
