I only just started wanikani, so I definitely won’t be joining in on this anytime soon lol, but I just wanted to say how cool it is that you guys do stuff like book clubs on here! For sure making it a goal of mine to reach a point where I can participate in stuff like this.

Everyone has their own timings on when to start but technically you could just learn some vocab and grammar and go for it! I wouldn’t start with death note (walls of text rip) but you could look through some of the stuff that has been read in the absolute beginner’s book club and see if anything interests you. Usually even if they are past book clubs someone will answer any questions you ask, and they have vocab sheets to help guide you through the process. Good luck on your journey!

I see that more people are joining or planning to join. So, asking about the pace and the time to start the next volume. I don’t mind about the speed at this point, anyway.

When should the next volume start?
  • Sat 23 September (next week)
  • Sat 30 September (1-week pause)
  • Sun 1 October (the first day of next month)
  • Sat 7 October (2-week pause)
