I have only just got around to reading this section after reading week 1 along with everyone else. Still struggling to understand everything - and there is a lot of vocabulary that I don’t know - but equally there are some sections that I can get the gist of! 断じてない means “absolutely not” or “definitely not” in this context. Together with よ I think it’s even a bit stronger than just stating that he never teased 山田 like this – even more categorical, absolute denial.

(Indeed, we later learn that 佐々木 is originally from 三重県.)
