This was an interesting chapter for sure. The plot thickens and I like it

A strange question: did Kesaran get high or drowsy from eating the mushroom?

I also liked how now a mushroom started growing on Kesaran’s head  This manga is gonna be wild for sure

I liked this chapter, gave me nostalgic memories of picking mushrooms.

I am typing up my translation attempt.

Here is my translation, feel free to correct or discuss it.
Any discussion about sound effects used are welcome

Summary

Thank you very much!
(door closing sound)
7th story, mushroom hunt

90

Summary

(the sound effect is unknown to me, it is not the sound of
brushing teeth, which i Think is ショカショカ

Nicholas: Tina, did you see just now…?
Tina: Something?

Nicholas: Kesaran opened the door by himself and went out,
so you know.

Tina: Uh

Summary

Tina: The door might have been badly closed
I was talking with guest and my mind was elsewhere.

Nicholas: that is the opposite of what I need to go pick
mushrooms, Now I need to come with Kesaran collected too.

Tina: Thank you!

Tina: (Ouch)

[details="Summary"]
92.

(Light boing sounds since it is ヒョン instead of ピョン)

[/details]
Summary

Nicholas:
Still needs to play, which is why
I am bringing this rascal

Tina:

Have a nice day!
(Thats true, alright)

Summary

The Earth is soft, so this area could be good for hunting.

I´ll give the Kesaran the favour to help out, bet you would
like that. (This is an unnatural sounding translation)

Mushroom picking knife.

Oh,
already.

Yesterday there was a lot of rainfall and the mushrooms have
grown a lot.

Uhuh.
Smells nice, as well.

And afterwards, to get the dirtied parts off,
some light brushing is applied.

Summary

Look, This is a mushroom.
Nice smell, i´d think

This is called a chanterelle, because it smells like Apricots.
By immediately going to the market a lot could be earned by
what we gather by ourselves.

(bla bla bla)

Box: Mushroom lover

96

Summary

munya (is a weird sleeping sound)
(catnip)

Summary

Maybe it gets drunk off the smell of mushrooms…?

It moved.
Whereto is it going?
(Avoid poison mushrooms and continue)
Bonk!

Summary

aahh
The quantity is Amazing…

This will make Tina happy too
(It’s a Porcino)

Summary

I knew it, where is it going

Tina: It is already about the time for them to come back, i’d
guess.

Nicholas: I’m home.
Tina: Ah, you two are, we…

Summary

(Ta-da!)
Tina: Whoa! That is an Amazing quantity, right?

Tina: How did you do it?
Nicholas: All thanks to the Kesaran mushrooom radar.
Tina: Mushroom radar!?
(oh, some kesaran strangeness)

Summary

A later day:
Tina: Whoa! A mushroom is growing from the head!?
Nicholas: Uh!

Yes it got high on mushrooms

I would translate as “what did?..” (happen)

'it just so happens i’m going to to gather mushrooms in the back. I’ll bring Kerasan back as well

てくれる、もらう、あげる are a menace, this time I think it refers to Kerasan giving Nicholas help.

we he talks about the market, i think he was talking about how your could also get the same mushrooms at the market but there’s nothing like gathering them on your own.

:pool_8_ball:

Here’s the text:

丁度家にキノコ狩りに行くしケサランも回収してくる

This is actually てくる and not てくれる。This one modifies the verb to say “go do X and come back” or “to do x in a direction toward the speaker” So 回収してくる is “To go collect/retrieve and come back”. This sentence would translate into

“Conveniently, I’m heading out to pick mushrooms and I’ll grab Kerasan while I’m there (and return here)”.

There is also ていく which is “to go do X and move away from the speaker”, just to add another menace

And a breakdown of the rest of the menaces:

てくれる is “someone gives/does something for me” with emphasis on the kindness of the action, so like 友達が教えてくれた would be “My friend taught me (and I appreciate that they did that)”

もらう is “I received the favor of being taught” with emphasis on the receiving part, kinda implying that you asked for help (but not always), so like 友達に教えてもらった would be “I was taught by my friend (and I received the favor after asking for it)”.

あげる is the other direction. “I do/did this for someone as a favor”. 友達を教えてあげた would be “I taught my friend (as a favor to them)”.

Keep in mind the particles here for these specific examples.

You are correct.

I was referring to …手伝ってくれるかな later on implying Kerasan will also help with the gathering. I was replying to Shardplate as they seemed to have some confusion on that part. Thank you for the breakdown this will be a lot more helpful then what I wrote.

Alright, I’m home. It’s pretty late at night, but I’ve got some Japanese to read

Page 89

Thank you very much
(I read a whole page all by myself! Obviously I must be a master of the Japanese language now)

Page 90

Have you seen him?
Seen who?
Keseran, I haven’t seen or heard him
Do you think he went outside?
Huh!?
(Translated this one all on my own too, but I have much less confidence in it)

Page 91

Maybe the door wasn’t shut all the way…
Or he snuck out while a customer was talking
Since I’m headed to the back to do some mushroom hunting, I’ll retrieve Kesaran
Thanks!

Page 92

Seems he still hasn’t played enough
I’ll take him along, okay?
Go ahead and take him

Page 93

Just an omnepia which I think means crunch or something

Page 94

The ground is soft
So let’s gather here
Kesaran, you help me out too
Ah! You immediately found something
It rained yesterday so mushrooms are popping up
Yeah, seems good (The 番 kanji without any numbers is through me off, I’m assuming it means something like high-ranking? Especially since good is here)
Next we cut away the dirty parts
Give it a brushing…

Page 95

Here, this one is ready
Keep it in it’s best condition (番 without numbers is really throwing me off)
Mushroom lover
This is called a chanterelle, and it has an apricot-like aroma. Pretty soon they’ll be easily available at the market too, but when it comes to mushrooms, nothing beats foraging them yourself! (I recognized all the kanji, but I didn’t even try to translate this on my own.)

Page 96

More cat evidence on this page!

Page 97

Could it be that you guy drunk off the mushrooms scent? (Okay, so translator is telling me that it means scent for some reason??)
He moved
Where are you going…?

Page 98

Aah
This mushroom is amazing
Tina should be happy too

Page 99

He’s on the move…
I wonder if they’ll be home soon
I’m back
Ah!
Welcome back you two

Page 100

Woah!
So many amazing mushrooms!
How did you do this!
Keseran is a mushroom radar
Mushroom radar?
The next day
There’s a mushroom growing out of his head!
Woah!

Alright, it’s finished, time for bed

nice! i somehow misread the entry in takoboto for 裏 as opposite, and that made that sentence difficult to parse, haha.

番 vs 香

一番目 「いちばんめ」 - the first (in series)

香り 「かおり」- this is used in the manga. usually used for a nice smell, aroma.

Ahhh I see. So it was a different kanji altogether.

That was quite interesting to see happen and wanted to be sure  Thank you for the confirmation :folded_hands:
