We're back with the turtle - WaniKani Sale Starts Now until Jan.5 2022

I was right there with you a couple weeks ago! Been getting back into it for the first time since the summer… which was my first time since March! Not the progress I was looking forward to this time last year, but at least now I’m back on track and fully committed to the Crabigator! The 1k+ reviews took me what seemed like ages to get through, but now I’m determined to keep my lessons and reviews at 0. Here’s to the new level progress we’ll all make this year!

Two questions:

  1. Is that marzipan?
  2. Did you make it especially?

Merry Christmas :christmas_tree:

Yes! With melted dark choc eyes! ^^ I did make it in a spur of inspiration while making Christmas candies for my family! ^>^

And Merry Christmas to you too! :gift:

Woohoo! Just got my lifetime license to pilot the Crabigator ship through the mystical Crab Kanji Nebula.
Now… who says we can’t blast through these kanji-roids with our warp drive?

Quit earlier this year came back a couple of weeks ago. Some double pay shifts convinced me to finally commit to the Crabigator!

Is this a code I could perhaps use?

A lot of people receive the same codes and when the max is reached, it can’t be used by another person.

However, I heard if you send a polite message to the mods, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

I used the code they gave on the podcast (November episode). But you can send them an e-mail asking for a discount, probably 20%.

I jumped on the discounted yearly subscription on the previous sale period, felt like a fair price at the discounted $45.

Sort of begrudge paying the $199 for lifetime, especially considering the on-and-off usage those with busy lives can only commit (young children, demanding job, etc).

Ended up subscribing to the lifetime because of lack of options, discount seems to be still up and running at the time of this post.

I do wonder how many staff this pays for at Wanikani/Tofugu, as a few consecutive years of discount lifetime sign-ups easily brings in an eye watering amount of money.

Hopefully an awful lot, so they can continue to expand their team (which they have been if you look at their job postings) and produce a great range of content for us to enjoy!

As somebody who falls into both of those groups of people, that made the lifetime purchase even more attractive. I’d rather spend $199 once for something that I’ll use on and off for years rather than $108 a year (at $9/month) for something that I’ll not be using for some of the time I’m paying for it.

You’re definitely right on that part (with regards to job postings). My prior comment was possibly not as well worded as it could have been.

The team does great work, and reading Jaered’s statement on the jobs page, I can fully support that and the teams mission. They definitely have a considerable amount of roles there, and said hires don’t come cheaply.

How long did the sale last? Because maybe we should also compare the number to how it grows when there’s no sale, so we can see just how big the spike is exactly

I took that first screenshot on Dec 20, one hour after the sale had started. So… 19-ish days? :eyes:

Then we’ll have to check on the 26th again to see what the difference is. I am most definitely going to forget it by then though
