If you want to read a different manga at your own pace, you could read from previous ABBC picks. Some possibilities:
- ちいさな森のオオカミちゃん - Widely lauded as the easiest manga that the ABBC has ever read.
- 可愛いだけじゃない式守さん - An upgrade pick that’s a little more difficult than Ookami-chan
- レンタルおにいちゃん - An easy manga with more serious themes, and the series is only 4 volumes long. A great opportunity to finish your first manga series in Japanese!
If you would like to read more prose, the ABBC has read four second grade readers from the same series. The second grade series will include more kanji than this pick, which was a first grade reader.
