How will I know if there are any promotional codes available?
In about a month or so, there will probably be WaniKani’s big annual sale. 
They usually make a post in the forums about it, and it generates a lot of buzz!

ohh okay thank you so much! Is a lifetime free account ever happened on wanikani? just wondering haha because I’m only a student I can’t afford to make a subscription it’s a bit expensive for me haha

The yearly sale also applies to the Lifetime Subscription. I bought it on sale too. It is the best thing to do! I’m so glad I did considering how long it is taking me! I think it is usually 100 dollars off?

It’s a sale, not a hand out. The typical price for the lifetime plan is $300, and they usually drop it to $200 instead for a few weeks at the end of the year. The other plans usually do not get sales.

They sometimes reveal discount codes on the podcast. However, as others have said, the big one is normally in December.

When you click someone’s profile picture a little window will pop up and in the middle you can see when they joined WK also levels are displayed on the botton right corner of the profile picture

When I was almost finished with the free levels, I sent them an e-mail asking (nicely) if they have any discount codes for the annual plan available. They gave me one for I believe 20% off. Never hurts to ask
I don’t think they give one out for the Lifetime plan outside of the annual winter sale, but I could be wrong.

Also, if you get an annual membership and upgrade to a lifetime membership, the remaining year will be substracted from the lifetime cost. I did it exactly like this, bought a year with discount code and upgraded to lifetime, when the sale came arround.

I am taking my time. I started in October 2018. I had a seven month break I didn’t intend to have during the pandemic. I started up again last month. I am Level 13, but usually people are much quicker than that. Trust me. I am really busy, so it helps to go slow. I also started Bunpro for grammar. I pay monthly for that, but I may get a different subscription soon. Now that I’m back, I’m going to start moving a little quicker too from here on out. I just had my 2 year anniversary. I couldn’t believe that.
