"The key provided seems to be invalid. Please check again."

Hi, sorry.
I’m just trying to use the wanikani app and I keep getting this error every time I paste the api key it asks for. I can’t get around this.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Please help.

There’s no official app for Wanikani. Judging by the screenshot, is that Jakeipuu?

If so, the official thread for that is here:

For API key issues, check that you don’t have any spaces in the key when you copy paste. The other thing would be to check the thread and see if they’ve added APIv2 support. It looks like the app hasn’t been updated in a while so you may want to use an alternative.

The main recommendations for up-to-date apps are Tsurukame on IOS and Flaming Durtles on Android.

Oh wow I didn’t even realize it wasn’t an official app. Now that I check the play store, I see the app is “DISCONTINUED” which probably explains the error.

Thanks for the info.

Just use the Flaming Durtles app. That is the most popular one I think.
I haven’t had any issues with it.

Are you sure you aren’t just using the default read only api key for this by accident? I’d think these apps needs at least some kind of modification rights. Flaming durtles certainly does.
