The 0/0 Streak Challenge

I’m waiting for most of that second half of the kanji to get unlocked, but in the meantime, here’s my second 0/0!

Finally back on track! This level was much more manageable with some fun and memorable vocabulary (吸血鬼) I wasn’t expecting.

Yippppeeeee!

Once I review tonight, I’ll be at level 41, in Paradise (I kept up with reviews during Thanksgiving)! These 10 levels went by fast in my mind, and even though I sometimes feel tired in the morning or sad that I forgot my review by accident, it hasn’t been that bad. I look forward to them most of the time :slightly_smiling_face:

Not sure about the exact details of this streak challenge but I’ve been hitting 0/0 every day since I signed up, making sure to get it before bedtime. So I’ll count that as close enough to whatever this thing is  !

Gonna be level 7 soon.

Been on holiday and took a while to get back into it, but… level 49

This level felt much easier than the last two, and I should level up in a couple of days. I had planned to do level 24 and 25 for December but maybe I will manage to get a bit into 26 before the new year if I keep up this rhythm!
I feel like I just improved a lot because it’s like I can suddenly read a lot more kanji at a “glance”. When I look at example vocabulary of a new kanji, I can often already read all of them and get an idea of what their meaning is because I know more kanji that evidently often pair together. Feels great!

0/0 and looks like I’ll be leveling up tomorrow!

Starting to get into Kanji that I don’t know quite as strongly with my past knowledge, especially for on’yomi, so kind of excited to be solidifying some things. Especially since some of them I’ve already seen show up in books so it alls just reinforces each other :muscle: . Really hoping to get to level 10 before New Year’s.

I haven’t decided when I’ll slow down but I would estimate my previous knowledge to keep this pace up probably until 20… maybe. I guess it depends on well I really know them.

Yo, It’s me again, back with another 0/0! Well, this is the last of the slow levels, and I’m not sure how I want to do the fast levels once I finish this one. But for now, I’m gonna focus on doing my best at level 42!

Slow down whenever you feel like it, but never quit! Also, if you put your API key into wkstats, you might have an idea of where to slow down! They show how the % of kanji you can read from different sources based on your level.

Here’s the chart up to level 20:

You’ll be around 70-85% of kanji known, so you’ll know around 8 out of 10 words in a sentence.

There’s also some charts and staticians on WK who show you how much you learn each level, and which levels are the most efficient. This post by asutekku is from 2019, but is probably still relevant. Basically level 21 is where you learn the most. So maybe start slowing down after level 21?

Thanks for that.

My previous knowledge is from Joyo and I had learned up to grade 4 so that’s probably where I’ll have forgotten the most. So based on WK’s Joyo chart it sounds like I’ll start finding this progressively more difficult around 11-16, so that’s probably where I’ll want to slow down if I want to keep up a reasonable pace (instead of my current pace where I do all the unlocks asap instead of thing myself to a daily limit)

And yes, no quitting. And gotta keep up that 0/0 all the way!

Took my sweet time with this but here’s 0/0 streak for Lv13!

0/0 at level 21. I’m not trying to hit 0/0, my goal is to do 10 lessons every day. But sometimes I don’t quite have 10 lessons available every day, and then I get to hit 0/0. It’s all good.

I got it from the OG! @araigoshi hihi~

I can’t believe I’m graduating from level 42! I almost want to stay at this 42 paradise, but I must go on! Kinda sad though, tried out @Kumirei level 42+ style script thinking you get a special color or rainbow or smth for level 42, but it’s the same as anyone else on or above 42

Silliness aside, I picked Genki II back up lol. The grammar isn’t hard, it’s just doing the book is a tad boring. But alas, I finished my semester so I really need to get myself together while I’m on winter break, and boost my Japanese!

Also, the scary fast levels are approaching tonight! I’ll see how I do speedrunning it first, but if it gets overwhelming I think I might just do them in 5 or 6 days instead of doing it in 3. But the devil on my shoulder is certainly whispering to go full speed demon…

I finally decided to link my previous levels for neatness sake!

Another level-up! A few days I was slacking a bit, but overall I kept at it.

Restarting the streak at level 1 after a reset.

Just curious, and if it’s personal feel free to ignore. I know sometimes people reset to an earlier level if reviews get ahead of them, but what’s the motivation behind resetting to level 1?

I am starting kaniwani and I want the levels in the two platform to be in synch. If I didn’t reset I would have over 2000 reviews in kaniwani to handle.

That makes perfect sense. Seems like there are various reasons people might reset, that’s so interesting.

Thanks and best of luck!
