And some people get addicted and try to do it multiple times I hear! ![]()
Well, even if not intentionally, WK kind of pushes you to go faster if you don’t adjust your workflow somehow. I mean, if you don’t use a reorder script, without the radicals blocking you from progressing you’ll probably learn most of the kanji before learning most vocab, thus leveling up early – only to be met with a whole bunch of new items. At least that would make 0/0 tricky ![]()
I considered doing them fast, but decided against it, because life is already busy, and spending about twice as much time daily on WK would be borderline unfeasible for me. And also, burning out when you’re almost done is not fun, I imagine.
So I decided to keep my consistent 8 DPL pace, which turned out to work very well for me. To do that, I would reorder the lessons so that I learn most of the kanji at the start, but not enough to level up (e.g. 31 out of 32 required). And then I would learn the rest of the kanji at the end of the fourth day on the level, so that I can have 0/0 before the new vocab hits.
I’m contemplating this, but not sure. I don’t really have much to say that hasn’t been said by numerous awesome people before me. What would you write in a level 60 post?
In any case, I’m not going to do it until I’m done with the remaining lessons, which is probably about 4 more days.
Yeah, that’s true for me as well
To address this, I’m planning to use Koohi instead to continue growing my vocab, which has honestly become a much bigger obstacle for my reading than kanji lately.
That’s the real way to do it anyway! ^>^ Get that last 0/0 and be proud of it! ![]()
You’re almost there. Keep up the good fight! ^>^

I wouldn’t know, but I suppose just posting a quick “Hey look, I made it to lv. 60” would be enough. You don’t really have to write that much. As I understand it, it’s more for motivational puposes anyway, and for people to be proud of this journey, to share it with the community. If you really wanted to, you could just include some stats from the wk stats page, etc, talk a bit about your journey, what’s next for you, etc. It doesn’t matter if what you say has been said. I, and I imagine many other poeple, would read it anyway. It’s always interesting to see how other poeple completed wk. Of course, you don’t have to write a lv. 60 post tho! Don’t worry.
Yeah. I probably won’t to them too fast as well. Keeping up with the pace is probably just as good.
Uh, never heard of this site. Saved it for later, maybe I’ll look into it more some time. Thanks!
Good Luck you can do it ![]()
I guess this doesn’t count towards the streak anymore since I’ve already had 0/0 on level 60, but I’m done with all the remaining lessons, and tomorrow my daily review count is going to be below 100 for the first time since level 4 or so. So I guess this is going to be my last 0/0 post. Time to decide between Koohi and Anki as my main SRS for the future [1], and perhaps to write that level 60 post ![]()

I’m planning to use Koohi for mining / frequency analysis in any case, but it seems to me that the SRS part of it may be better delegated to Anki for a variety of reasons – I might post about it later once I settle on something ↩︎
Dont you plan to stay on wanikani to still practice the kanjis?
I certainly do plan to do WK reviews as they pop up, at least until I’ve burned most items. It’s just that I have no more lessons, and there is still a lot I want to learn, so I’ll need to do it elsewhere. I love SRS, which is why I’m going to pick one that I’ll be using for the new vocab/kanji I learn, with WK being on the side.
Level 7, here I am. Technically I’ve been level 7 for 1.5 days now, but took the new lessons a bit more slowly this time to avoid the surge of uncertainty I had at the start of level 6. I guess it’s helped a bit, as only 9 of the new items are having a stay in critical, but it’s hard to say.
