Does anyone else love the part where Anya comforts the cow? It’s so cute…though I might just like it because it was two sentences in a row where I didn’t use my dictionary haha

It’s like Anya comforted our overworked dictionaries at the same time =D

You know, just your run of the mill enterance exam. You didn’t have a heard of farm animals run through the school quad?

I understand the 一流のアートに触れて part, but how does 以下略 fit into the sentence?

I hope it’s ok that I’m posting in these threads like a year later

I’m not completely sure, but my understanding is that 以下略, in this particular scenario, means “etc.”, as in the rest of the phrasing has been omitted. In this case, this is a reference to how Tasogare has been trying to get Anya into contact with more refined arts in hopes of getting her to act more elegantly. Like in the previous page, at the opera, we have:

Where he’s thinking “She needs to get in contact with high class things so that she won’t accidentally have her faults exposed”.

So in the art museum he’s basically thinking the same thing - that getting into contact with high level art … “etc”, where the “etc” is basically there to represent the same idea of making her more refined that has been expressed already.

It’s perfectly fine! Book clubs always have people that have all these old threads in their watching lists in case someone else wants to ask a question, and we are always happy to try to help out.

Ohh that makes sense. Thanks for the detailed explanation!

And yay, I’m glad I haven’t been committing some kind of forum faux pas! I’m relatively new to the forums even though WK and I go back a bit.
